If Gordon is able to comeback and be the player he was in Utah this year. People that’s like a huge free agent signing. It’s like getting another star this offfseason. Would be great if it happens and I’m rooting for him. Bleed forever green.

thanks for the sentiments.

exactly what do you think the odds are of him being as you post? further, if he as you post (fully back) how do you see him fitting into the celtics offense and defense? will he be a play maker? a primary scorer?

how will the celtics play change once he asserts himself? what does it mean for the playing time of other celtics?

thanks.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He will be the primary option I believe. He was a topm7 two way player before his injury. Look at Paul George it took him a full year to recover from it. I believe he wil average about 25 ppg

I agree. Hayward when healthy is a total beast he can do everything: shoot, get to the line, pass, rebound, defend. I liked him better than KI was heart broken when he got hurt! :'(

Gordon has a lot of factors working in his favor on this one. Many of his question marks should be answered by the end of the year.

Gordon looks tentative and diminished out there can he return to form?

This is his first full off-season since the injury. All signs point to him being a tireless worker and a legitimate training regimen should help him more than most.

Gordon had no fit last year. Starting him was a mistake and he never found his role. What position is he going to play?

How about Horford's role on offense? On defense of course I don't think that Al is replaceable, but his offensive responsibilities and could fall right into Hayward's hands.

Spot-up threes, passing out of the Mid post, scoring around the rim(Al through post ups - Gordon through back door cuts). There is a lot of opportunity for Gordon to take a step forward on this offense and most of it came at the expense of Al Horford.

Steven A. Smith told me Gordon was a problem in the locker room and that players resented him. Is he going to be a problem for team Chemistry?

Terry was clearly the number 1 Gordon hater and he's gone.
Kyrie gave Gordon a chance but lost confidence in him.
Jaylen probably had issues with the fit early in the year but he rose above them. This is where Jaylen Brown's borderline elite maturity shined through and Jaylen and Hayward were beginning to develop strong chemistry by years end.

I am not expecting Utah Gordon but valuable vet Gordon could be huge if it happens.

This is the first I heard of this. From all accounts he's a chilled out guy and went out of his way not to step on anyone's toes, to the point of subordinating his offense to the likes of "the young guys".

It's probably not worded correctly.  I'm sure the guys who wanted Hayward's minutes were actually more upset with Stevens.  If they actually had a problem with Hayward because of that, the three problem children won't be on the team next year and I don't think it will be an issue again.

The Butler connection between Stevens and Hayward making his teammates resent him.
The Hayward who was stealing playing time from Rozier and Brown also caused resentment.

Lot of resentment from players.

Hayward being perceived as “ Brad’s son”, Receiving preferential treatment  and playing time, even if it wasn’t deserved.

I understand how his return caused friction was one of the main causes of unhappiness and resentment, but from reading it it sounded like he was being a headcase and causing problems voluntarily.

This is a bit of misquote. I think it intended to capture SAS claim (which Jackie Mac confirmed) that there was resentment in locker room against perceived favoritism shown Hayward at start of year when he clearly was not fully recovered.  I agree with you that there seemed to be positive development between Brown and Hayward chemistry through the year, and also a off court bond between Tatum and Hayward was also starting to blossom.

Winning cures most ills. If we are playing well again, I doubt this becomes an issue going forward, but certainly something to keep an eye on.  I do wish our players hung out more together off the court, just don't know if that will happen.
