Hayward has been working out vigorously this offseason with Celtics assistant coach Scott Morrison since the season ended and Morrison said the 29-year-old is looking “stronger.”

“Gordon looks great,” Morrison told reporters, via NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg. “This will be the fifth or sixth week we’ve been going every day. We’ve got a pretty intense weight program three or four days a week; he’s on the court five days a week.

“He’s getting stronger, getting faster, getting leaner, and, from a basketball perspective, it’s hard to test things like that, but I think he looks pretty good. His shot and ball-handling is a lot crisper. He’s just hungry to get better. I don’t want to speak for him but I’m very happy with the effort and progress that he’s putting in.”

If he fails next season it won't be due to lack of effort. I'm sure he'll come out feeling like he has plenty to prove.

Not really surprising to me. He is probably ruing the fact that he was unable to get a pre-season in last season. I expect him to be far better

I’m very hopeful for a Gordon Hayward resurgence, but this means absolutely nothing.

what means absolutely nothing? Lets hope Robert Williams and Tatum are working hard too, and not just goofing off in the off season. The players that take their jobs as a year round job rather than 8 month job are generally more successful.

Been a bunch of reports about Williams being in the training facility all off-season. If I recall correctly Brad or Danny singled he and Hayward out primarily as the guys who he'd seen most around the practice facility.

This is AWESOME.

He wasn't quite as rotund as Fat Cat here

But he clearly seemed to have 20-30 extra pounds on him compared to Utah.

I hope the best for him. As long as he SNIFFS All-Star I'll be happy and this TEAM will benefit.

He's the key to next season, at least in regards to maximizing the teams potential.  Obviously it would be huge for the J's to elevate their games, but Hayward has an opportunity to become the glue that makes the entire operation run smoothly.  We're going to need his best after the loss of Horford.

Utah Gordon would also make Brad's job much easier when it comes to juggling the Center spot.  Our offense should be efficient without the usual stretch 5.

Pretty much.  We don't get many reports from trainers/coaches that players look mediocre in the summer.  Sullinger was always in the best shape of his life.  Even Fultz who never plays in games has consistently looked amazing in workouts according to his trainers.

I'm excited about Hayward.  I thought his body looked good by the end of last season.  He's definitely going to have to be more assertive though and maybe that will happen minus Rozier, Morris, and Irving.

This is nowhere near accurate.

I fully expect hayward to be much better this season. as we saw with paul george, it takes a full year to get over the injury and get back to yourself. we saw glimpses of it in games last season but not consistently as we heard his ankle would be sore etc.

also, with no morris, Rozier to eat up his shots (rozier never even looked at him on the court) and a less selfish Kemba walker looking for a taste of success I expect hayward to be much more of a factor offensively.

To be honest, I hope he plays Horfords role as point forward on the starting lineup with Kemba/tatum/brown working off the ball.

Exactly my thoughts.  Hayward will be instrumental in determining whether or not this team is greater than the sum of its parts.

I expect Hayward to be the glue to the 19-20 team that Horford was last year. When fully healthy, I see Hayward as our best all around player. I'm also expecting the Celtics to have a newfound positive energy next year and barring significant injuries, an increased win total.

This, is why i have a problem for Brown's "travel around the world plus workout" attitude

It's all cool and fine as a person to have multiple interest , but as a NBA player it's not desirable, especially when you haven't prove yourself(as a star/perennial starter), he lacks determination

As previous poster said, whether Hayward and Williams will succeed i do not know, but if they fail it won't be due to to lack of effort
