Happy with this news. Wanamaker played well when given the chance and is both capable of creating shots as he's able to play a supporting role.

Waste of a roster spot. Stevens didn't trust him enough to use him last year. Why would this year be any different?

Trust had nothing to do with it. He had a mutiny on his hands in T Roz wanting more minutes.

Not a single malcontent hothead on the roster

First time for the Celtics in what? 35 years?

He is a very reliable player. Stays within himself, doesn't try to do too much. A good vet signing on the cheap. Earned right to come back.

Closes door on Larkin I guess.

Dead weight at the very bottom of that list.

Yep was just going to say that.  In the spot minutes Wanamaker played I thought he did a really good job in a backup role.  A true PG who plays solid D.  Our rookie guards will probably not be ready yet for rotation minutes so I’m totally fine with this.

Our roster looks full now.

I kind of don’t get this move. Wanamaker might be a great person and all but we already got a lot of PG and SG on this team. I would have preferred to use the last roster spot on a big man since we (at least defensively) aren’t very strong on those positions (PF and C).

Guess the rotation will look something like this:

PG: Walker, (Smart), Edwards, Wanamaker
SG: J. Brown, Smart, Langford
SF: Hayward, (Tatum), Ojeleye
PF: Tatum, Theis, Grant Williams, Yabu
C: Kanter, Poirier, Rob Williams

We will have problems defending dominant big men, i.e. Embild, and I foresee us getting out rebounded by other teams as per usual
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Wannamaker did play well when he was given a chance. But Stevens wouldn't play him. He trusted Rozier more despite Rozier playing like crap for months on end.

Why bring a guy back who Stevens couldn't trust enough to play ahead of someone playing as badly as Rozier was?

Well if he didn’t play Rozier who knows how much more toxic the locker room would have been.  Hopefully Stevens would play him more freely this time around.

He's a good bench guy, knows the system and can play when needed. Happy to see him back.

Kanter 31 points and 20 reb vs Embiid and 76ers

Maybe Wanamaker knows something we don't.

I mean why would he come back just to sit on the bench again.

There's more to this move IMO.

It's really possible the Celts will make a trade for a star player before the season starts.

I think if the Celts can trade Smart, Jaylen, and Yabu for Bradley Beal, Celts will be contenders this coming season.
