Maybe the bottom drops out on the market for him and we pick him up really really cheap
pipe dream i know, but I like the Kanter / NN combo

If you pair kanter with noel, that isn't terrible. Noel being the rim pi protector

I would have much rather had Noel than Kanter.

Who knows.  Maybe Timelord is ready to fill the NN role?  It seems like a stretch, but you never know.

As would I, although we might not have been able to offer him enough money.

No chance. Cs don’t have anything worthwhile to offer him.

Noel would make them stronger defensively up front. He's a local guy, so maybe they could work something out. Even with Kanter, they are still weak defensively up front. I don't see a contender presently. Though the Raptors could lose Leonard. That would make Philly the easy favorites.

I keep hearing "project" on  that 7-7 kid. Also Williams. Every 7 ft kid that comes into the league is a project. So put 'em out there in the Summer league, coach 'em, and see what happens. Do they have anybody to coach young bigs?

Last few years Kanter has played 67-72 games. Pretty durable but very likely to miss some games. Gonna be an adventure on those nights.

Aside: basketball-reference gives his nickname as "Enes the Menace."

If Nerlens takes less money and plays for the vet min I expect it to be for the Lakers since he is represented by clutch sports.

We have Williams. We don't need Noel.

To be fair, Noel is a better overall athlete than Robert Williams.  He has better lateral quickness and can switch 1-5.  Noel's issues boil down to work ethic and attitude.  He should be one of the two or three best defensive Center in the entire league.  It's still not too late for him to figure it out.

How is Noel a better overall athlete than Robert Williams?
