Free-agent forward Kawhi Leonard has informed runners-up teams of his plans: He's signing with the LA Clippers, league sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Clippers have also acquired All-Star forward Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder for a record-setting collection of draft choices, sources said.

Oklahoma City is getting a massive package of future picks as well as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari to deliver Leonard the player he wanted to partner with -- George, according to sources.

The Clippers are sending the Thunder four unprotected first-round picks, one protected first-round pick and two pick swaps, league sources tell Wojnarowski.

Leonard has been recruiting George to find a way to get to the Clippers, sources said. After Leonard pushed George to find a way to get to the Clippers, George approached the Thunder and requested a trade, sources said.

Oklahoma City was left with no choice and made the best out of a difficult situation, according to sources.

Leonard had held meetings with three teams he planned to sit down with in free agency, sources told Wojnarowski. Leonard met with the Lakers, Clippers and Raptors over the past week, with Toronto receiving the final meeting, sources said.

Kawhi had all the leverage and supposedly put out word that if anyone leaked info it would hurt their chances.

It's crazy that George walked in and forced a trade with OKC just like that.  I'm sure the owners aren't thrilled with all this - the latest chapter in the player empowerment era. 

Consider the Celtics.  They're going to have to likely pay Jaylen ahead of time to keep him from jumping ship to the next team with cap room - and they won't know yet whether he's deserving of a $170 million contract.  Some teams are going to be screwed by this type of scenario when the player doesn't work out.

Players have all the leverage - owners have none.  That's going to have to eventually change.

I won't be surprised for another lockout.
