The sad thing is that we could have had George and kawhi teaming here plus possibly Kyrie and Horford or even butler ... their prices were that low the last 2/3 summers...
but Danny was in love with Hayward and the Js ... such a waste of assets by the man that always make the “right” move

How? George told the NBA teams "don't trade for me. I'm going to LA.."
Kahwi said the same thing. Fast forward to now and you have 2 teams who did the gamble trade and it didn't pay off
I think it did pay off, but in different ways. Toronto got their 1st championship ever and the Thunder got a giant haul
you think they're completely content and happy getting 1 championship ? Now theyre in the abyss for a long long time.

And having a bunch of draft picks from a team that will be the #1 seed in the west in the next decade isnt the most amazing haul for a superstar
Toronto won a championship so they are fine. They also have $100M of cap space next year.
If I have to compare Toronto vs Boston since 2010 ... Toronto has accomplished a lot more than us and it’s not even close.
If I have to bet on whether us or the raptors will win a title first ... I think it’s even odds.

We are left with the hope of internal development and a rebound from Hayward ... not really much else ... we are this season as 7 of the last 9 seasons in that fringe contender status...
Also once we max jaylen we will be guaranteed to be stuck in that status for another 5.
Some fans actually like that outcome as they can always point to the Atlanta or the Charlottes of the world
100M in cap space next off season isn't going to be worth much considering the weakness of the free agency class.

I do not think so.  Toronto losing Kawhi for nothing, even though they wont it all last year, puts their future in serious jeopardy.

Boston has the rights to Brown and Tatums and Kemba for 4 more years.  That is a much better core than Toronto.

Looking at it, Jerry West, Kawhi, Kawhi's camp and the Clippers organization did a phenomenal job this week.

Think about it, all the noise about Lakers and reporters saying different things this past week, but NO ONE expected them to go ahead and trade for Paul George. A few people merely suggested it, but that's it. Basically, the Clippers and Kawhi did everything the way Kawhi probably likes it - quietly, and drama-free.

People thought the Clippers were out of the race over the last few days, but they got their man + PG13. Impressive work.

If anything, the media should be ridiculed for their Kawhi coverage this whole week, especially ESPN, FOX, Cris Carter, Broussard, Bucher, etc.

Not exactly sure how anyone sees the Kawhi move to LAC as anything but confirmation that Danny probably made the right move in not trading premium assets for Kawhi due to fear he would be LA-bound this summer.

For Toronto getting their first ever championship this year after the Kawhi trade? Absolutely, 100% worth it. Even if they were granted a lot of fortune in opponent injuries, this is still something that will be talked about in Toronto or years to come, so I think it was definitely worth it for them.

For Boston, though? Given that there was enough dysfunction this past year that adding even Kawhi likely wouldn't have made a difference with us getting a championship, I can't really think of a scenario where this would've been worth it for us. We would be in the same place we are right now, only likely sans Brown and several draft picks, probably including the Memphis pick.

So there's a rumor swirling around that Paul George dated Doc Rivers' daughter and cheated on her.

Now that's gonna be one awkward locker room.

Man Laker fans are steaming about Kawhi moving the team meeting and then meeting with Paul George nearby. They're calling him a snake  :D

We can get overly hopeful about landing guys and we've sure held grudges against guys who left like Ray and Kyrie, but imagine how entitled your fan base has to be to think another team's free agent "betrayed" you by not looking out for YOUR interests?

it's not a rumor, it's fact. Paul George had a baby with a stripper in Miami while he was dating docs daughter
