Kemba Walker on @notthefakeSVP "I gave that organization every single thing I could give them. Now it's about competing at the highest level & we all know Boston is doing that year in & year out. I want to be part of something special in terms of competing at the highest level"

He joined Scott Van Pelt on ESPN’s SportsCenter for his first interview as a Celtic, and said he made this decision to take the next step in his career.

“It was a very tough decision, but it was something I had to do to try to fulfill some dreams of mine and compete,” he said. "It’s one of the toughest things I’ve definitely had to do in my career.”

"When you think of the Celtics, you think of championships," Walker said. "You think of winning, and that's what I'm about. I'm about competing for championships and winning, and that's something I haven't been able to do throughout the early years of my career. I haven't been a consistent winner in this league. I just felt like Boston was the best fit for me to try and accomplish those kinds of goals."

Dude is a class act. In addition to being an overall better fit, I'll be so happy to not have to listen to the contrived, pseudointellectual nonsense that always spews out of Kyrie's mouth anymore.

Someone said class act.  Not sure how that applies right now; he just left his only team. Just like Al, he doesn't have loyalty.  He will definitely play hard and I think we can take solace in that along with him playing in Boston.

Why should players have loyalty?  Teams don't.

Especially given the fact that his team didn't offer him much (if any) more than he got in Boston. Similar to Al - even though I hate that he went to Philly, it's hard to blame him going somewhere that is offering significantly more money (let alone a better chance at winning).

Don't you know, players are just puppets and us fans are supposed to be the puppeteers.  No, Jaylen, you're not a real boy, you're still just a wooden puppet.  Now dance!

I think if someone left a job where their boss routinely failed them and hampered them with terrible coworkers for a near decade, only to offer them a less than market salary when said employee has had their best year ever, nobody would have an issue with it. That's what happened here.

We all know it's a business. It's just that fans tend to only remember that when we want a bad player shipped out, and we tend to forget it when a good player leaves our team for a better deal elsewhere
