With the average NBA guard height increasing year by year, sure hope these Kemba Walker rumors turn out to be false.

Al just started following jrue holliday and zion supposedly

https://twitter.com/_andrew_lopez/status/1144999897369841669?s=21

so much for friendship or did Griffin and Ainge collude to give Al a soft landing spot?

fantasy timeout:  Ingram healthy and makes major leap. Zion better than expected.  Hayes better than expected.  Horford signs.  Ball healthy and reaches potential.  Holiday best season yet.  Pelicans defeat Davis and Lebron in round 2 of playoffs...   8)

Ball, Jrue, NAW
Jrue, NAW, Moore, Hart
Ingram, Moore
Zion, Randle
Horford, Hayes, Okafor

Woj just definitively said on ESPN that "Kemba Walker is on his way to the Celtics. He and Boston will get together shortly after 6 PM tomorrow and finalize a deal."

Okay Saltlover, this is where you tell us all how we can structure a trade between Rozier and Walker to create more cap space to sign a really good FA center!!!

If we use a sign-and-trade involving either Kyrie or Horford to acquire Walker (Rozier would be needed in a trade involving Kyrie) we will have access to the MLE at near $9 million in year 1 rather than the room exception at $4.8 million.  This would obviously elevate our level of competition in the free agent big market.  We would also gain access to the BAE at $3.6 million in year one for additional depth.
In order to convince a team/player to do a S & T, would the Celtics need to offer up something in terms of an incentive to either the trade partner or the player?  Sign & Trade's confuse the heck out of me.

Looney is a nice player but a *very* small 5. 6’9” in shoes, 220 pounds. He does have a long wingspan, 7’4”, but you’ll want another big body if you want to defend Embiid.

Vonleh same height and wingspan but heavier. About 250. Defends well vs Giannis. Not sure about Embiid.

Looney only 220.

I wish they would try to get Dedmon for a 1 year MLE. It’s an underpay, but he would be our fully featured center to showcase his skills and get a larger contract next year.

I don't know anything about Looney but I actually like Kanter for 25 mpg he's strong enough to bang with Embiid and other bigs. Don't get me wrong he's a down grade from Horford. Still wish we could get Stevens! :-[

i also like Kanter but he might have some good offers elsewhere. But I agree 25 mpg is where i would put him, strong rebounding big. Hopefully his shoulder will be healed by then

They would need to incentivize the team. If Irving is getting the max already, there is nothing more he can be given.  You incentivize players by giving them significantly more obey than they’d otherwise get — see Bogans, Keith.

I feel like we need 2 bigs, not just 1 room exception guy.

I’d try for Vonleh, Kanter, Looney, Lopez, Noel with the room exception (maybe in that order) but try for a trade too. Capela, Turner & Sabonis if possible / affordable.

Some of you have mentioned that Indy is committed to their centers, but I still think Turner for Smart, Yabu & a protected 1st makes a lot of sense for both teams. Smart and Dipo seems like a great pairing.

EDIT - Dedmon would be my #1 FA center target.

Wow. Woj is now saying that Kemba to the C’s is a done deal and will happen as soon as free agency starts tomorrow.  Not even meeting with any other teams!
