I didnt get the draft results I wanted but maybe the FA is different. I'm not a Walker fan. With C's having Smart, Edwards, and Waters don't think getting Walker makes sense. Walker is more of what's wrong with the team's system in trying to plug in score first PGs with below average defenses. It's been ruining the offense and defense from IT to Irving it's looked terrible for this team way too often. Just start Smart, let Tatum, Brown and Hayward be the guys you run the offense through.

So the moves I'd make is stock pile bigs get Portis, Randle and WCS with the cap space.

PG-Smart/Edwards/Waters
SG-Brown/Langford
SF-Hayward/Semi
PF-Tatum/Randle/GW
C-WCS/Portis/TimeLord

Not bad moves but given the Kemba situation, doubt it happens.

Oh yay another thread that’s just a thinly veiled free agency or trade idea

Randle, Portis, and WCS after 3 years of Al freaking Horrors? So depressing.

Danny has to sell tickets, none of those guys move the needle. Smart isn't skilled enough to be a full time PG. Kemba coming in will result in more wins, and plenty of excitement. Danny either goes for elite bigs or dirt cheap bigs. No in-between.

If i could have it my way, I'd resign Irving and Al. I'd move Brown and a big haul of picks for Beal. Smart for Capela.

Kyrie/Beal/Tatum/Horford/Capela

Hayward as Hondo

You are free to start what ever thread you feel is appropriate at the time.

I think people going on record just before an Draft, FA and trade deadline is a fun thread to back to during the year to see who had things right or wrong.

That team is not good.

Also you're dreaming if you think Randle, a 20/10 guy last year, comes here to be a backup to a guy who was worse than him last season (Tatum) when he was playing his preferred position, let alone as a 4.

'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I definitely disagree with a lot of this.

I'd rather have those three guys than Horford. The drop off when Horford was hurt, tired, or sitting was too much. C's are getting an upgraded rotation to keep good quality in at all times.

Kemba is not a name that sells tickets, if he was Hornets would have super maxed him. He is outside the top 25 of NBA players maybe even 30.

Smart has plenty of skill. His play making has improved each year. His defense at the position and rebounding also adds huge pluses to him playing PG. I don't want a ball dominant PG it's been the problem in the system.

I'd be OK with your moves if they were possible.

Sign Kemba, trade Smart for a center.

Just plain wrong. Disrespecting a 3 time All-Star who was just an All-NBA player

Honestly, I’m happy with Kemba and whatever bigs Danny can sign.  Trade Yabu for a little more cap space, maybe.

In an ideal world, we do a crazy triple sign-and-Trade with Kyrie and Rozier outgoing and Kemba incoming. Then resign Horford and Morris if we can fit them under the cap.

I feel the team is very good. The best thing about it is the fact you can move guys around based on match ups. Basically C's top 7 out 9 guys can play multiple positions so you can start what I put up there based on one team or start Randle move Tatum/Hayward to the bench against another team. You have enough bench depth to do that. You aren't putting all your chips into one guy.

Malcolm Brogdon (via cap space)
Thomas Bryant (via cap space. Chances are the Wizards are gonna match, but oh well)
Noah Vonleh (via the room exception)
Jared Dudley (vet min)

Brogdon - Smart - Edwards
Brown - Langford
Hayward - Semi - Dudley
Tatum - G. Williams (Vonleh can play the 4 as well)
Bryant - Vonleh - R. Williams

Fill the remaining roster spots as you see fit.

This is a good "Youth movement" FA direction.

Someone is giving Vonleh more than a $4M starting salary.
