I hear a lot of people talk about Isaiah like they know for a fact that he's finished. Do we know for sure that his body will never recover. How much explosiveness do we think is gone? That hip injury is no joke, I just don't know for sure what he's lost. He's spent so much of the last two years recovering, and hasn't had a full healthy off-season to get right.

Who would like like find out the answer to these questions here in Boston. What are your stipulations? I know it's a stab in the dark, but if he got back to 80 percent of what he was, man!

No but the history of small guards at age 30 who rely on quickness/athleticism coming back after such a decline is not good.

And IT is on the extreme end of smaller players in the NBA.

He can't because Lou Williams is Lou Williams.

We are talking about a player who was top-5 in MVP voting just two years ago. If his hip is healthy, he should be able to contribute to an NBA roster as a 30-year-old. I'm not saying I expect him to get back to where he was, I'm just saying I don't believe he's finished.

Its been two years, what makes you think he can be healthy again? If you're a NBA player at 5' 9" (listed height which is optimistic) then your game is on the knife's edge.

I wish he could get back to the guy I screamed for in the Wizards series, but I fear that's gone.

Well you set a pretty high bar. The OP asks if he can be productive. Something like  a 12-15ppg coming off the bench kind of player I guess.

I think no but i wouldn't be surprised if this happens

Nuggets should have given him the chance in the playoffs.

It was a shot in the dark but that series with Portland really could have gone either way. Maybe IT could have helped them. If the Nuggets knows he couldn't help then its most likely that he is done.

True.

I think IT's done.

IT playing hurt in the playoffs of 2017 really made his injury worse.

I sadly donít believe heíll ever be back, as he seems to have lost that quickness, but I sure hope Iím wrong.

Once you lose the quickness at his size, its nearly impossible to get your shot off.

And if IT4 isn't a lethal offensive player he's unplayable given his defensive limitations.

Even if he is productive, IT not the kind of player to build your team around.  As a supporting player could be useful, but then his warts become more difficult to live with.

He had surgery a year ago, no? So maybe with a legit offseason to train and get acclimated to a system he can be productive again.

Maybe not MVP-caliber like he was, but an above-average bench player for a few seasons may not be out of the question.

It's sad to hear wish he would have stayed healthy and got a decent payday from someone. He was fun to watch and root for!!
