The thing to keep in mind (from what I've read) is the only person who speaks for Leonard is his uncle/agent.  He doesn't confide in anyone else - including teammates -  so he's not talking to any reporters.  Anyone saying they know where he's going is probably talking to team sources or other players agents - so no one (besides Woj of course) is likely to know till he actually decides.

according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. The Celtics are still looking at a number of free agents and potential sign-and-trades that could free up money to get another impact player, Bulpett continues. Interior defense is the biggest area of need, he adds.

how awesome would it be if Kawhi was just taking his sweet time pretending to have interest in Lakers just to make them lose out on all the other FAs.  Then sign with Clippers and take over LA. hahah

Assuming Cousins would expect the Veteran Minimum, sure. But he probably won't.

And, yes, Boston could go through a series of steps to stay over the cap and have Non-Taxpayer MLE. But as
@dangercart
 recently tweeted about, they aren't doing that. That ship has probably sailed

I mean, it all depends upon the price of the deal. If they require just a 2nd round pick for the deal - maybe even the 2020 Cleveland 2nd rounder from Charlotte that should be pretty good - then I think that's something that you do. Though it all depends upon who you're doing it for.

I don't suppose we can make it a mega deal with BKN and GSW?

Kyrie, Durant ==> BKN
DLo ==> GSW
Cousins => BOS

We could stand to overpay a little on Cousins, if we held a team option 2+1? We'd at least get his best foot forward if we had the best offer and a starting job on a good team?

Thought I read that GSW were throwing in pick(s) to make the S&T happen for Durant, maybe we split the comp with them.

How do two big peas fit in one Brooklyn pod?

A fox link? No offense but that is scraping the VERY bottom of the journalistic resources available. Lucky they are only writing a second-hander about this Marc Spears piece:

It's probably just a vocal minority but knowing how onion-skinned KD is, I could see how he is ticked off.

Fool  could’ve had his own team 3 years ago if he had chosen Boston.

Lakers will then just absorb half of the Cavs for a 2nd round pick. Gilbert will be excited to shed the payroll.

Bill Simmons suggested Kevin Love is ripe to be absorbed by the Lakers if Kawhi falls through.

I’m wondering if the Lakers or even the Clippers would want to take on his 4 years $120M remaining contract?

The Mavericks, who have liked Danny Green since the last time he was a free agent, are in a strong position to land him regardless of the fallout from the Lakers & Raptors pursuit of Kawhi Leonard.

I think the Clips would steer clear, because two injury-prone big contracts in Love and Gallo. Lakers would do it though, lol
