Then why draft gazillion of versatile 1 to3 players.

Just move on from this Rozier experiment.

Oh god. I hope not. I may have to take a break from watching this team if he's back. He's brutal on the eyes.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I really hope not.  I doubt that just because minutes are clearing up with Kyrie leaving that all of a sudden his attitude issues will resolve.  What happens when we find an upgrade at the ballhandler position and his minutes diminish again?  Or if he is still unsatisfied with his role even with Kyrie gone?  More complaining, sulking on the bench.  We don't need a player that shot 32% in the playoffs being a distraction all year because he doesn't like his role on the team.

I'd be surprised if Ainge and Brad want Terry back after the way he acted this season.  I hope we move on.

I am under the impression that if we need his space, then rozier will be dropped.  But yeah, either way I want no part of a long term commitment to him.

We have 3 point guards already on the roster.

Why not add another.
Might as well use the rest of the capspace on sg/sf combos as well.

Can never have to many of those.

Danny's objective is to corner the market on sg/sf combos.

Smart/edwards/waters
Brown/langford
Tatum/Hayward/Semi

I mean obviously we only have 3 pgs and 5 wing players. We need another pg, 2 more sg/sf and 1 more sf. Then we are set. Need to be 4 deep at each wing position.

We have 2 front court players....thats more than enough.

What good is having bigmen in the nba when we can be the only team to run a pg/pg/sg/sf/sf lineup.

The reason Rozier would come back is that he’s got a relatively small cap hold, making it possible to both retain him and sign a big to a large contract.

Many players I would rather spend that 10 mill caphold amount on.

Bryant
Dedmon
Rubio
Green
J. Green
Lopez
Reddick
Mirotic
Morris
Morris
Gay
Rose
Aminu
Wcs
Kanter
Peyton
Beverly
Collison
Lamb
Portis
Lopez
Gibson
Matthews
Davis
Faried
Joseph
Lin
Looney
Wright
Carrolle
Scott
Kaminsky
Kleber
Muscala
Holliday
Hezonjia
Vonleh
Holmes
Lyles
Mcgruder
Temple
Oquinn
Larkin
Udoh

But then, unless I missed someone, terry becomes an option at eating that 10 mill capspace

I rather have Rubio. He's only 3 years older than Rozier. Great passer and team player.

And a good defender.  But what would he cost?

2 years 10/12 million per, maybe.... It'll depend on the market. He's a very unselfish player.

Exactly. And quite frankly if they just hand him a starting spot after the way he acted this season instead of making him earn it, it's only going to make his attitude worse.

And do we just think his resentment of Gordon will magically disappear?

Yes because he is the best pg the Celtics can get with only the cap hold counting on the cap.

Most of the other PGs i here talked about will get offered more then that 9 million cap hold or (if we are talking about an older vet) likely sign with a more likely contender.

That leaves the Celtics 20 some million to pkay with to add a C (and maybe a pf as well)

Then they can go over the cap to resign Rozier.  Rozier then can either regain some of his trade value with his play or is the matching salary when trading in a package.

If the Celtics sign a much better pg with most their cap space, nevermind.

I sure hope not. He's a gunner, and not a particularly good one.

I've seen a lot of people talk about Rubio in here. I'm curious as to why people would like Rubio starting over Smart. Smart is younger, tougher, a better defender and better shooter. The only thing Rubio does better is passing, but Smart is not a bad passer at all.

Rubio wasn't good in Minnesota and Utah did not even bother to try to bring him back. I think that tells a little something about him

I also like Smart more than Rubio. I was looking at Rubio as a Rozier replacement. Who would start would be up to Brad. Rubio might be at the point where he has to come off the bench. As a bench guard he has great value. Maybe Carson Edwards is ready to go from day one and you don't need another bench guard. Edwards is going to be on a very cheap contract.

Why in hell would they sign back rozier.

Do we really need 4 point guards?

And i ill be surprised if
Larkin

Or rose

Get offered more than the mle....and that makes them cheaper than rozier.....and better than rozier.
