Vincent Poirier, celts interested?

Starting to hear some buzz that Vincent Poirier from France may make a jump to the NBA for the upcoming season. He's been playing for Baskonia in the Spanish ACB league. The 6'11'' center does his work around the rim. One of the teams with interest is the Boston Celtics.

The 25 year old Poirier has played in NBA Summer League twice. He played for Orlando in 2016 and for Brooklyn in 2017.

Poirier averaged 10.6 PPG on 62% shooting, while grabbing 7.2 RPG over 73 games with Basknoia in 2018-19.

Poirier could be this year's version of Daniel Theis for Boston. Theis is scheduled for free agency after two years with the Celtics. Boston could make him a restricted free agent by tendering Theis a qualifying offer, but the Celtics may choose to go the cap space route instead.

He's alright as a backup option, but we need a C who can start and play 30+ MPG. Not sure who can we get in FA who fits that bill, don't think Noel can be that.

Could be an interesting addition, but it doesn't appear he has star potential. I would still be satisfied with Theis coming back as a vet min contract (I don't think we will give him the QO).

I posted this elsewhere but this guy is kind of a Steven Adams lite or poorman's Adams. No outside game that I've seen but throws his body around and plays hard.
