Danny come correct for past actions. Trade Smart and a first for Capela who's 25 years old and can protect the paint and cover for Randle defensively.

Sign Randle who's 24 years old to a big but not max deal and he can cover for Capela offensively.

Two very good young bigs to develop with Tatum, Brown Hayward and the young guys.

 Capela
 Randle
 Tatum
 Brown
 Hayward/Smart

That team wins a lot of games next year. Inexperienced but talented bench.

It's one of the front courts I've been thinking of. Think I prefer Gordon over Randle but not sure we can get him unless Orlando goes deep into Vuce and wants some cap relief.

No -- not enough shooting. Both guys spend too much time close to the basket. Paint too congested.

They won't work well together.

You proposed trading Smart for Capela and then posted a lineup that includes Smart. I did not understand.
I don't think this is a very good frontcourt. Spacing would be a problem imo. If we get a defensive center I have no problem with Hayward as a point forward PF.

While I do not like Randle next to Capela (or Steven Adams for that matter) due to their lack of combined shooting prowess ... I am curious how Randle might fit next to Vucevic.

Vucevic can spread the floor and open that paint up for Randle to attack the rim. I think those two can work together -- offensively at least. The main question in my mind is whether they can defend well enough for their offensive prowess to matter.

I would love that.

I think we would start the year wtih Randle coming off the bench, and Hayward defending opposing 4's. Hayward's age doesn't fit the timeline, if he plays well and recaptures his value they will move him at the deadline, if not they will move him to the bench. I expect Haward to put up 20+ next year and think we could get a haul for someone playing like that.

Grant Williams is a better defender than Randle now.

not a capela fan, we need pair of bigs to,replace Baynes and Horford .
Calepa is not very skilled but in shot blocking.

Vuc is who,we need , can pass and score, his butt off and is pretty healthy guy most of,the time despite mixing it up and running the court.

I've had this conversation with a friend as well, i don't think this will be a bad idea

Pelicans now has Zion and drafted another big and keeping Okafor, I think Randle leaves

Capela can be the interior defensive big that we needed and if you can sell them of being role players, i don't mind this. What I like about Randle is, he has just as much chip in his shoulder like Smart.

I don't think we can afford Randle and Vucevic. Not enough cap space

yeah no matter what people think about this pairing, I think it way short on post def,
we can't afford both of these guys.  it will be in the 45-50 mil range for the two of them
we can't get to that kind of cap space without getting rid of Hayward, and I just don't think that is happening

Randle can space the floor a bit, he shot 34% on 2.7 attempts a game last year, I think that can still improve, but he did take a major step to add that to his game last year.

He hasn't played a minute of NBA ball yet lets hold off on what he can or can't do? :)
