What if...this is all a smear campaign by Rich Paul and LeBron because they’re scared to death by the prospect of Kyrie winning an NBA championship over LeBron as the next round of Celtics/Lakers? They were scared to death by the prospect of us winning AD and instead they ended up overpaying? What if Kyrie is remaining silent to see how bad the smearing becomes (it’s becoming comical at this point), re-signs on July 1 (at the podium, “my word is my word and I said I’m coming back so why is everybody surprised?”), calls out LeBum without naming him (“others have been pushing fake news stories behind the scenes because they don’t want to see the Celtics succeed with me” followed by hugging Ainge, Stevens, Tatum and Smart) and nobody wants to join the Lakers as a result of all this? Even AD walks to the Clippers next year in utter disgust of LeBum? Can you imagine the news stories? Kyrie is actually popular among his peers, something LeBum is surely jealous of. What if Kyrie is not only coming back, but coming back with another superstar to pair with Tatum and Smart? What if this is all a smear campaign that is about to blowback such that the Internet breaks?

Kyrie is completely silent underground and Ainge “knows something you don’t,” so what if this is it?

I don't think even Rich Paul & LeBron hold enough sway to manipulate every single talking head and analyst into thinking Kyrie is a goner

In the age of social media, these things have a habit of spreading like a virus. I suspect that may be what is happening here. It started as a ploy to get AD (remember how the outrageous stories started in Feb when the Lakers were trying to push for AD and destroy our locker room in the process by leading all of our young guys to believe they would be traded for Kyrie’s buddy), has subsequently turned into this circus of fake news, and is about to blowback on an epic scale.

And here’s the mind explosion: Even if Kyrie WAS going to jump ship with KD, that’s off the table for a year, so why not save face and move forward with claiming it was all fake news all along? He gets the supermax and KD next year in Celtic green. He’s THE good guy who was smeared and LeBum’s rep is ruined forever.  It’s just too good to pass up for both Kyrie and the Celtics, with huge ratings for the NBA with the Celtics as the good guys against the Lakers’ “heel” (this is the moment LeBron goes “bad” and he’ll have no choice but to embrace the bad boy image now that Kawhi is the best in the world). For these reasons, this is why I think it will all go down like this. The entertainment value is too good to pass up (and you know good guy Magic will spill the beans on the February smear campaign to destroy LeBron’s chance of being the greatest Laker) and the clicks will be RECORD-breaking, particularly if it all leads to Celtics Vs. Lakers in the 2020-2022 NBA Finals...

It’s time to expose LeBron for what he is: The Queen Cersei of the NBA.

It just seems like very optimistic/wishful thinking to me. I can't say I know where Kyrie's interests lie - which is half the difficulty in reading him, because he's so erratic as a person.

I simply don't think Kyrie really wants to be here.

LeBron also has a long way to go before he sniffs being a top 3 Laker of all time, so that whole angle is a bit off for my mind too.

Who knows. But I see this at about a 1% chance of occurring.

Everything, literally everything, since the end of the season has published with absolute silence by Kyrie. Ainge has almost said with a laugh that the reports are untrue about Kyrie ghosting us, that Kyrie has been open and always responsive. They are totally setting the stage for all of this, right down to Ainge’s calm, cool “I know something you don’t.” Wyc is laughing and smiling too even as all media  reports make it sound like the Lakers are championship favorites and we’re out of contention. That changes to Lakers and Celtics tied as championship favorites with the fake news approach previously described, particularly if Kyrie brings another superstar into the fold.

Yes, it’s like something out of Game of Thrones...but it’s exactly the ratings bonanza controversy the NBA needs to distract from the fact a team in Canada is world champion right now.

I will have to call you delusional for thinking it's all about LBJ and Lakers pushing the narrative

More likely it's Kyrie and Durant want to cheat the media and playing around, in that case we will sign KD then re-sign Kyrie

At his POV point I want al, kyrie, rozier, mook gone because none of them help with our long term future.  Al, mook, Rozier of course would be re considered but at this point, the air is too toxic and the experiment is too predictable in its outcome to resign kyrie.  And it’s a shame you have to say that about such a talent.

We were just fine with Kyrie when our young guys(Brown and Rozier) didn't get big head
And if i would to choose i will choose Kyrie over both

I know you're probably going to keep insisting that Brown and Rozier got delusions of grandeur and it's all their fault, but Brown wasn't the one to disappear against the Bucks

I'm just being objective, Brown performed very well while Kyrie is the one who Suck and disappear against the Bucks and he will have no excuse for that, Kyrie is the main reason we lose that series , he talks big about playoffs then he sucked, he should be most responsible for our playoff failure this year, defiantly not Brown

But we are talking about bad team chemistry causing dysfunction being the main problem on our team, not personal performance in one series, aren't we?

Occam’s Razor, bro. If *everybody* is saying Kyrie is leaving, the Boston FO is acting as if Kyrie is leaving, and there’s not a shred of evidence suggesting Kyrie is staying, it’s most likely because he’s leaving.

It's not. Danny would have kept Horford if that was the case. The one player team known as Ky-me is gone and I look forward to beating him next year.

It seems to me the FO/Danny has come to the conclusion that Kyrie is definitely leaving, either from what he has said/done privately or what he has NOT said/done privately. I don't think Celtics would have made the moves they have w.r.t. Horford attempts to re-sign, and trading Baynes, if they thought Kyrie was staying.
