Stevens succeeds with young players. Do you expect a comeback year in reg season

Maybe we don't contend, but if we have 2-3 rookies and more time lord, do you expect Stevens to go back to his ways of overachieving from expectations in the regular season and developing youth? He seems to be at his best when given a quantity of youth (like the spurs, kings etc type teams)

He certainly thrives when coaching an underdog, and makes teams with less talent look better than they are.

That’s why I’m expecting him to be able to get this team to the playoffs. If we draft well and add a heady PG I think we’ll be solid.

As good of a player as Kyrie is offensively, this may in fact be true overall. Yet unless at least one of Tatum or Brown make the jump, it’s hard to see us as true title contenders even if Al stays.

Last year we were a talented team that performed less than the sum of their parts.

Next year we will be a less talented team that performs greater than the sum of their parts.

Provided Horford returns our execution will improve, our defense will improve but our ability to create in isolation and score against elite defenses will diminish.

This is like Adrian Dantley for Mark Aguire or Jerry Stack House for Rip Hamilton. Just because a player is individually better than the one who replaced him, it doesn't mean that he's better for the team.

The team is going nowhere. A six seed versus a four seed...what difference does it make? I want to see all these people who are ok with the team being a non contender, stay positive next year as they watch the team play games with no chance at winning anything.

Yes, I think Brad's going to have a bounce back year. 


I think Tatum is going to make a leap, especially in terms of overall scoring volume.  Brown is going to look even better, as well. 

Hayward will be much improved after a full off-season being able to work out and prepare.

Rozier will have a full time starting gig (yes I think he'll be back) and will play looser and with less desperation to make his mark in the limited minutes he has the ball in his hands. 



I expect that the Celtics will be a much more energetic and likable team than they were last year.  They will be an underdog once again and they will have something to prove.  Brad most of all.



None of that will quiet those whose main misgiving with this team is that they have no way to compete for a title as constructed.  That criticism of the team is going to be applicable for awhile.

who is that decent PG? A lot of where Cs will be next year rides on Gordon Hayward. Dude needs to hit the gym and consult a sports psychologist. If that guy gets back to 90% of what he was in Utah the Celtics will not lose a beat I tell you.
