Gutted for Klay. He played his heart out. Hopefully this won't affect his FA.

Have to think Houston keeps their team together now.

or ....CP3 sees an opportunity to ask for a trade to LA to be with LeTurd and make their dream title team work.   Houston might have shot themselves in the foot too early wanting to trade " everybody " . This may backfire with everybody wanting to run to Lakers to win while GS is down and out for a couple years.

otherwords Lebron is back in business ......Kida appears Clippers , Knick and Nets dreams might fall though , no matter how many max contracts they have.

Lakers might be willing to over pay for AD now. They will be in a good position with Lebron and AD.
Lakers hitched their wagon to Lebron.  They don't seem to be the front runner for any free agents.  They have to overpay to get a 2nd star.  AD is the best 2nd star that they can get.  Imagine all the criticism Jeannie Buss and the organization will receive if they don't get a 2nd star to pair with Lebron for his final years.

End of the dynasty.  Golden opportunity for the rest of the league
Not necessarily.  KD looked like he was gone.  Now he may be back.  They just need to get some injury protection in his contract.  Assuming he comes back and shows he's reasonably recovered, they could get a nice return by trading him.

Klay's ACL injury is not really concerning.  Recovering from ACLs is common place now Klay shouldn't be affected as much as other players whose game depends on their athleticism.

Taking a step back for a year and ending in the lottery isn't a bad thing.  Gives them an opportunity to get some new blood in who might extend their dynasty.

Feel terrible for Klay and Durant. Rough way to go out.

Narrative-wise, there's something almost poetic about GS building this incredibly stacked roster and then steadily having it taken away until they're running Quinn Cook in crunch time of a Finals Game 6.  But personally it just really sucks for those guys.

Yeah, they all went down fighting to the end. It's admirable. Though I also think in a way, they got a slight "taste of their own medicine" since in the past, other teams have often been injured while facing the Warriors which has helped their dynasty (2015 Cavs without Love + Kyrie; 2018 Chris Paul leaving Game 5 and being out the rest of that series, etc).

I'll have to say the sight of Toronto fans cheering when KD went down did not endear me to their cause one bit.  While I'm glad to see GSW dethroned, losing this way and with such horrific injuries is definitely not the way I would want the title run to end.

As for the future, we've got a week to see how it shakes out...I am so torn between all the possibilities that could happen for the Celtics that I just want this week to go fast!  :)

Yeah don't sleep on the Lakers. They'll be a top 5 team in the West for sure depending on their free agency acquisition. Never count LeBron out.

This is all idealistic thinking.  Typical of these forums though lol.  KLAY and Durant if he stays will be two years older and coming off injuries.  Other teams will have improved and their young players will have improved.  They had another two year run in them maybe.  This solidifies the end imo.  And no draft pick is gonna help them next year or the year after.

Just feel awful for him. They really looked like they were going to gut out the home win and force a game 7 with how well he was playing.

He became my favorite non-Celtic. Just love his game, his attitude, his fortitude.  Love his jump shot.

Speedy recovery, Klay.

Yeah, certainly seemed that way.  He was carrying the team on his back.

The other thing is that if KD opts in and they max out Klay, the Warriors will have to pay a huge luxury tax bill next year for a team that probably is going to miss the playoffs - all in hopes that both guys will come back the year after that ready to play at a high level.  And don't forget - KD will be a UFA at the end of next year.

If they keep their current roster - 5 yr max for Klay and KD, waive or trade Livingston . Pay looney and cousins $6M each. Shuffle some min level guys.
I think they are looking at ~$170M of payroll and ~ $80M of luxury tax.
They can afford $250M to spend on the roster
