It's looking like their biggest mistake of the season was letting of of Chelsea Lane, their former head of sports medicine and performance.

They were willing to pay a premium on players, but cheaped out on their health and fitness, and it cost them.
Dang, I didn't even know that. TP for that insight.

Call it a fitting end or poetic justice for the Warriors dynasty.

They benefitted from facing an Irving-less and Love-less Cavs in 2015.
They played dirty injuring Kawhi Leonard in 2017.
They got lucky the Celtics were without Irving and Hayward in 2018.

All their guys minus Curry went down with brutal/nagging injuries.

Get out of here with that nonsense.

The warriors built a great team without top of the draft lotto picks. They changed the league with their pace and space offense and their switching defense. They broke the regular season record for wins.

The Kawhi injury was one player on one play.  The Celtics in 2018 would not have had a chance regardless of injuries.

The 2015 finals would've been much closer with love and Kyrie healthy but I'd take the warriors in that match if all the warriors players were available for each game.

The warriors are what every franchise and every team should aspire to be. They're the team of this decade.  We will be super lucky if the Celts are ever that good, with that kind of chemistry and heart, for even a single season, anytime soon.

Five straight finals runs clearly took their toll. The warriors broke down in this series. Even so they didnt let the raptors win easy. They fought to the bitter end.

Im so bummed to hear about Klays injury. I hope we don't have to wait long before we get to see the splash brothers and Draymond playing together again at full strength.

Considering that the warriors lost the next year against LeBron and the Cavs, it was probable that they would’ve lost in 2015 and who knows what would have happened if Kawahi stayed healthy in the Spurs series.

What's with the warriors medical staff? They allowed Klay to go back out and shoot the free throws and play 1 more full court play AFTER he Got hurt

This is after the whole KD debacle of bringing KD back to soon, and cousins tearing his quad in the 1st round...

https://youtu.be/oF_zSEbNL0c

At that point they did not know how bad the injury was, and they just wanted him to shoot the free throws and get out of there so that he would remain eligible for the rest of the game.
Yeah, pretty hard to be critical of them when it could at that stage still have been a simple twist/hyper-extension.

Not the same as KD's thing, but there's fault all around for that

there should be a way where the refs could have called an official timeout after Klay's free throws to allow him to get out of the game. If they can do it to fix the clock or clean the court, they sure can to get an injured player off the court.

100%! It seems very weird to me that they'll stop the game when someone has a cut on their elbow that's bleeding, but not for something clearly more serious

This is an astonishingly bad, utterly classless take. The Warriors built their team through the draft, added savvy veteran acquisitions and were in a position to capitalize on a quirk in salary cap escalation. I have no problem with how they've gone about their business, they've been worthy champions and to fall short thanks to serious injuries to two of their three best players is not fitting nor is it poetic justice.

Pretty sure the Warriors are more "classless" with how their players behaved. Draymond Green and his dirty plays. Won't forget how he football-tackled two Celtics players down in that 2016 regular season game in Oracle Arena. Zaza Pachulia taking out Kawhi Leonard? Horrible. Kevin Durant the snake? Met with six or seven teams in the summer of 2016, wasted those teams' times only to pick the obvious 73-9 team that he blew a 3-1 series to.

I guess what goes around comes around for them. Hope Curry felt what other teams have felt in the West Finals/NBA Finals without their players. Good riddance. The Warriors will never change my mind on how they've bought their last three championships.

Not good to celebrate injury to players.

With Klay and Durant both free agents, what do you figure this means?

What should the Warriors do?  Try to re-sign both long-term?  Let them walk and try to free up a max cap slot to add a replacement star to pair with Draymond and Steph?  Free up cap to pay Boogie?  Lol

would be funny as hell if Steph and Draymond won the title next season regardless.  They will still be one of the best 1-2 punches in the NBA.  Steph should try to average 40ppg.

How much better are they than Kyrie + Al? If you thought our supporting cast was garbage you mustn’t be fond of theirs at all

Well they can just let Klay and Durant walk and use their cap space to sign a 3rd star.  Lol

Sure, they could sign a dollar-shop Klay in Middleton, but that's really the only guy I can imagine going there
