If Kyrie really is discontented with certain young players, he might be leveraging Ainge into dumping them for veteran talent.

If he keeps his options open and leaks certain things about the Nets etc it definitely puts pressure on Boston to accommodate him.

I've gotta think there is still a lot of appeal staying here if the right team is around him. He still has a chance to be the hero here while competing for a title (and earning more money), but more on his terms.

And that's hopefully what happens. I really don't want Brown, Tatum or Rozier back on the team.

I’m OK with Irving here if it means Davis longer term. A Davis/Horford/Brown/ Hayward/ Irving Team, with almost any bench probably could win multiple titles. But if Irving walks and Davis won’t commit I’d still prefer Rozier at the point over Smart. Even if we Davis would commit longer term, the Davis, Horford, Hayward, Brown, Rozier lineup would be super tough. We’d need to add some shooting to the bench

Nets rotation players last year were almost the exact same age last year as celtics. I believe the Celtics were something like .5 years older. I looked it up when someone was claiming the nets were performing better as the year went on because of how young they are.

They have a few less vets, especially because they are most likely losing dudley and carroll.

Here are the core young guys age
Jaylen Brown 22
Jayson Tatum 21
Rozier 25

Jarret Allen 21
Spencer Dinwiddie 26
Deangelo Rusell 23
Caris Lever 25

If Irving really does not want to play with super young players, I am not sure how big a difference there is in Brooklyn.

Its less young players, more the Celtics particular young players then it would seem.

It is what it is, he'll either stick around or not. Hopefully some clarity comes within a week.

Yeah, and this is part of why I'm skeptical about the Nets rumors. Not only does it seem unlikely he'd have a truly competitive team, but he'd be saddled with a bunch of younger core players.

Maybe Butler will join him and they can be miserable together? That mix would be a special kind of toxic.

This would be the wise thing to do.

I have never understood Boston fans obsession with this "Young core." We dumped Young guys for championships, I am talking a number one pick in Wiggins. It worked out for us.

I don't see what is so great about Brown or Tatum. I don't even think they would be the best player on my Cavs. Maybe a back and forth with those two and Sexton and Clarkson. I don't think there would be a definitive number one guy every night like a Devin Booker, Luka or Jokic.

 Bahahahaha! That’s rich!

My own response that i put in the wrong thread (the AD one)

"LOL at the Clarkson comment. There is a reason he couldn't get on the court in the ECF where Brown and Tatum were playing 30+ minutes and starting. But hey 16-3-2 in 27 MPG on one of the worst team on the league with a 119 DRTG .

Should have pumped up Cedi instead for a slightly more effective troll gave the game away."

I thought about Kyrie leaving for BKN all day and I'm confused, seriously.

Jarrett Allen? Excellent shot blocker but is he a good defender? Don't believe he is..Joel Embiid clearly outplayed him in that series...I know that Big Al is older (just turned 33) but he is clearly a better player than JA....and will be for a few more years..

I know that in the event of a major trade we could very well lose most (if not all) of our youth (JB, JT) but if THAT happens we will STILL be left with a CLEARLY better team than BKN - and with a committment from AD and Kyrie we will be a GREAT team for a few years...

GH will be better as well.

Is Kyrie's BKN draw because KD is going there? If this is true then they won't have KD until much later next year...and he will not be the same player he was BEFORE the injury.

I was watching ESPN and they stated that with this injury he could go from being among the top 3 players in the league to being among the top 12...clearly a great player still but of course with a little diminishing.

Even "IF" KD comes back as before is Kyrie and KD and the remaining team enough to get out of the East? Seems to me like they need more...

I hope that Kyrie's camp is feeding him ALL SIDES of his choices in front of him....once / if he goes to BKN it will be too late once the losses start piling up....and Jay Z and Beyonce - while an EXTREMELY talented couple - will NOT be able to suit up for BKN to help him.

The #Celtics  are turning their attention away from re-signing Kyrie Irving and toward acquiring Anthony Davis.

Brown is one of those young guys Kyrie does not seem to like, Tatum is the one he does like. Oddly, Tatum's stock may have dipped, while Brown's Rose.

If I were Boston, I would trade everyone but Jayson. Brown and Terry were the 2 young guys who were vocal about not really wanting to play with Irving.

When we first traded for I.T, I remember reading that Brown liked the team the way it was without Irving. He was saying how Irving changed the culture or something like that implying he liked I.T better. Then Terry all but said Irving was hard to play with.

The two ring leaders were Brown and Terry, it was not all the young guys imo. There are not many young guys past those two & Tatum to be honest.

Ship out those two.

Links? Sources? First time I've seen any particulars as to who liked whom on our team.

And I'd be shocked if David Griffin doesn't ask for Tatum as well as JB - especially "IF" we can get a commitment from AD on staying in BOS.

I know Brown spoke out against Kyrie after the Orlando game. Seems Rozier and Brown were the most unhappy with their roles and PT.

BUT - Didn't Danny give both GH and JB credit for accepting their roles?

I just get the feeling that most of Kyrie's camp is telling him what he WANTS to hear vice what he NEEDS to hear....

By the time he gets to BKN (if he chooses this path) it will be too late...

And once the losses start piling up those same Talking Heads will be no where to be found.

Yes.

And it looked like Jaylen played very good ball the last half of the season.
