Well, now Bulpett has two stories out 18 hours apart that reach nearly opposite conclusions lol These both can’t be true, and both stories can easily be conceived as purposeful leaks aimed at a specific narrative that benefits their respective sources.

Yeah, I’ve got to stop trying to follow all of these supposed leaks and rumors, as it seems virtually every one is purposefully leaked to fulfill one or more narratives.

I’m just ready for there to be a specific direction for us one way or the other at this point.

The later the story the closer to the truth I’m afraid.

It depends on your feelings on Kyrie.

The first story seemed like it was sourced from the Celtics.

The second story seems like it was sourced from Roc Nation.

Truth probably falls somewhere in the middle.

Kyrie is looking at the Nets as the team he's going to join, but if the Celts trade for AD perhaps that could change.

I think pretty much this. He’s leaning toward the Nets, but hasn’t ruled out the C’s yet (though that’s pretty much exactly what Bulpett’s first article states).

Also, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this comes out after the reports about NOLA not wanting to trade AD to LA and only using them as leverage to prop up the C’s trade. More abd more I feel like 95% of these rumors are strategically leaked to serve a larger narrative while only containing shreds of truth.

Is there a Russian troll content farm somewhere in Moscow pumping out tweets and fake news stories about nba player destinations in trades and free agency? Feels like it..... CBA to address Russian meddling????

I'm of a similar thought process. I know - smoke and fire and all that - but Kyrie hasn't even formally signed with RocNation yet, it'd be a concern if someone tied to them is already leaking info about him. As Wyc himself said, everyone has an agenda right now. Even Bulpett's first report. EVERYTHING should be taken with a grain of salt.
2021 Houston Rockets

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Plot twist: both stories were sourced from Kyrie and he wants to gauge the reaction of both fan bases to help determine where he’s going to sign

I am afraid Rozier is going to get resigned and be the starting PG next season. And it is going to be a painful experience.

I think Smart will get the start over him if he's still here. Smart is better at managing the team than Rozier, unless they run the offense through HAyward.

Smart as a starting PG..no thank you. Give me Hayward in that situation.

How awkward would that be after his ESPN appearances basically ripping the team like a month ago  :P

He would have a lot to do to make it up to the fans...starting with playing like a professional PG and not a selfish street baller

Yeah, but on the other hand, it could end up being more years of having a locker room cancer and a guy who is pretty clearly selfish. We want another season with chemistry issues and frustrations? Pass.

No. I disliked this team this past season. It was a chore. I want to enjoy basketball and the Celtics again.

Totally agree. I think Rozier is a punk. Hate his game and came off so arrogant with his recent comments.

Yeah. I was often frustrated with Morris during the season for his selfish play and dumb shot selection at time, but he stepped up big time in the postseason and played WITH the team. Even was more willing to help off the bench. Rozier on the other hand was who we thought he was this past season. Had one great, admirable playoff run and suddenly thought he was a superstar.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
People who want Irving gone should absolutely want Rozier to stay and be the starting PG. After all, his main beef was seemingly with Kyrie. If Rozier is starting, the expectation should be that he will be more free to be himself and more team oriented.

I should clarify that I absolutely want Irving back, but wanting both of them gone doesn't make much sense. It's really Team Kyrie vs Team Rozier and Team Rozier seems to be winning out - even if people don't realize that's what they really want.
