Tatum is still the best prospect the Celtics have had since Larry bird.

Next season he will be the same age Pierce was when he entered the league.
He is not a better prospect than Paul Pierce (or Bird). He is the best prospect since Al Jefferson.
he's a better prospect than Pierce was.  Pierce was still in College when he was Tatum's age.  You can compare Tatum's stats next season to Pierce's rookie season to have a fair 1-for-1 comparison.

That's not to say that Tatum will end up as good as Pierce was in his prime (top 15 player/1 time 2nd team all-nba)... but if we're looking at Tatum as a prospect, his ceiling is higher than any player we've had since Larry Bird.

Not fair to compare next year to Pierce’s rookie year since Tatum will have had two years in the NBA under is belt, but I do agree that Tatum is the better prospect with a higher ceiling

The combo of Tatum and Brown has all the pitential to be the leagues best wing duo since the 90s.

Add to them a do all pg like Alexander Walker and you have a beastly stud grouping as your 1-2-3

Not sure so many here are touting AW. His lack of elite athleticism projects him to be a backup IMO. I’d rather Danny focus on guys with more upside.

I dunno, I think he'll have a very similar peak to Arron Afflalo, except NAW is a better passer.

Steve Smith is his upper level comparison. Less athletic than Miami Smitty, but similarly smooth.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)

I guess it depends on how you wnat to define best prospect. He is ahead of where Peirce was at this age, sure. But I dont expect him to end up better than Peirce so I would call Peirce a better prospect. Its close either way, imo.
