Back to the trade itself.  Nets have given themselves the flexibility to go after 2 Max free agents however there's a good chance it doesn't happen.  Does acquiring Prince mean they'll let RHJ walk?

Hawks did really well to get a mid 1st and a probable 2nd mid 1st for a player who wasn't in their future plans and 1 year of Crabbe's contract.  They now have #8, #10, #17, #35, #41 and #44 in this draft.  Lots of flexibility to move around in this draft or take chances (e.g. take Bol Bol at #10) or just lots of bites at the apple which is a good thing to have in this draft.  They have a chance to have 3 1sts in the 2020 draft too.

What’s the fascination with Ny teams?  It’s not like Boston is in India or something.  You’re still close to your family

The New York press is always connecting The Knicks to a big free agent but the last one I remember them signing was Amare Stoudemire...

And then they got Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler.

I think it's more the press that connects them than the players. Most of these guys probably have multiple houses in multiple places. LeBum had a house in LA long before he moved to the Lakers.

See it as a win win for both teams, the Nets get a player on a better contract who's still young and can develop in Prince alongside a wildcard second (seconds can turn into useful players if used smartly), while the Hawks get two first round picks for more bites at the apple.

Irving is going to do whatever he can to push for an AD trade in Brooklyn. Kyrie+AD pick & roll? Oh boy...

Griffin & Kyrie have a good relationship. Kyrie is not the best player in this class of agents, but he is the most valuable. He has many great relationships, & every team could use an elite pg. Not to mention, AD had his best years with a good pg.

Nets should go super-hard at AD. Kyrie plus AD is the Kobe & Shaq of this era. They will be unstoppable, because AD needs shooters & a pg, Kyrie is both of those. While Kyire needs a big to take pressure off him.

Doubt the Irving+Russell pairing works. Maybe you all can attest to 2 ball dominant pgs playing in the same back-court.

Ainge can easily trade for AD...and resign Kyrie....Shaq and Kobe of this era... on the C's-!! We'd still have Horford and Hayward too. :-)

Too bad the Nets don’t have nearly the valuable assets to trade for AD 🤷‍♂️

Anyone know our record this year with Rozier starting versus that with Irving starting?...  I know it's better. Not saying Rozier is better, but perhaps the team plays better with Rozier because they actually like him, and like playing with him It was weird, but I liked watching the team a lot more with Rozier in there than with Irving. They played with more ball movement, purpose and passion. It would nice if that continued and then Jaylen and Jayson made significant leaps with the reigns in their hands next year. I also recall that both of those young guys answered the bell fairly consistently during the 2018 ECF run when they were called upon to do so.

It’s better but it’s not representative given that the coaching staff seemed inclined to rest Irving on games when the team was facing the much lesser teams of the league, like Chicago.

Someone on Reddit claimed the Nets are going to sign Kyrie and Jimmy Butler while the Knicks are signing Durant and Kemba.

Imagine if that happened?  Boston could reasonably be behind the Sixers, Bucks, Raptors (if kawhi stays), Knicks, Nets... maybe also the Pacers.   6-8 seed ... maybe lotto.

Unless some kids make a leap, our peers will be the Magic and Pistons.
If that ended up as the outcome I'd not be too worried for the long term. It would have weakened the 76ers too. We'd need to set ourselves up for the future by moving Al and rebuilding Haywards value. It'd just be moving to the Jays timeline which is something people have spoken about for a while

im fine with this take as long as people accept that we wouldn't have gotten out of the 1st round in 2018 had it not been for Rozier.  Rozier played like a borderline star and we barely beat a 45 win team in 7 games as a result.

If Kyrie leaves, Rozier will be on the team. People are gonna need to make peace with that

I don't concur with that at all, I think he has burnt his bridges with a floodgate of critical comments after the season.

11-3

But most came from bad teams, have ti look at that too.

I am trying to allow myself to be ok with terry being back, but in no way should he start.

And he still has an issue with Hayward.

It just doesnt make sense.

Smart is better than terry, i cannot see a way to argue against that. And so is Jaylen and Hayward and Tatum. So the price you would have to pay a guy that mouthed about the team, has shown to be incredibly inefficient, and is a malcontent, and has issues with a high paid player om tour roster, and has an issue with his minutes and shots is worth bringing back and tying up what will most likely be 8 figures
