Lack of usage undermines this thesis.

Mac Williamson will currently batting 1.000 for the seattle mariners. HOF right there.

Semi only has 11 possessions in that role from last season.

Mitch Robinson has nearly as high PPP as a roll man and had 106 possessions.  So Mitch Robinson at the very least is better than Semi in that role.  Which makes sense.

Rudy Gobert was probably the best in the league at it last year, given that he was used in that manner on 25% of his possessions and scored 1.35 points per play in 272 possessions.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think Brad and Danny are secretly betting big behind the scenes that Semi is going to be at the very least a big part of the forward rotation next year.

No. I am not sure there is anything Semi really adds to this team.

I could see him playing like 15-20 minutes per game as the backup 3/4, taking over the Morris role with more of an emphasis on defense and keeping the ball moving.

To me, Semi Ojeleye is basically Gershon Yabusele but with limited playing time.

So basically, irrelevant to team and more as a cheerleader off the bench.

He will probably add more than anyone the Celtics can add in the draft this year.

Yabusele is the guy that needs to go to open a roster spot for a rookie. Semi might be a rotation player next year depending on if Hayward, Tatum, Smart and Brown are all here.

Hope you are right. I just don't see what Semi adds. And I do agree with Yabu. He needs to go. That experiment is over.

Semi really needs to go to a team that has minutes for him. I think the Celtics like him, and they love his contract, but he continues to have very limited opportunities in Boston. I don't really see that changing next season.

There were times last season when I thought Semi would have been better for the team than Morris was- in a less is more kind of way.  So many guys who wanted/needed shots and Morris is a gunner himself.
