Durant to NY
Kawhi to Clippers
Butler to Lakers
Irving to NY or LA

Is there a free agent people talk about that the media isn't talking about switching teams?  So few rumors about returning to teams.

Kemba will go to the team that misses out on Irving.
Harris can't be afforded by Philly.

The only exception seems to be Klay because he talks about how great it is to play with Curry.

So are all these top FA waiting to leave or is this the rush of getting clicks/ having a topic to discuss on tv/radio?

Recent comments from Kemba suggest he may want to just stay in Charlotte and get paid supermax money.

I think most people assume the Bucks will do what it takes to keep Middleton.

I agree though that among the main names discussed Klay is really the only one where the consensus seems to be that he's definitely staying put.

Saw that from Kemba after I posted.  Should be interesting how that changes the discussion from the talking heads.

I don't think Butler is leaving.  I wouldn't be shocked or anything if he left, but I'd be a little surprised if he left Philly (assuming they offer the 5 year max).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Klay's probably staying in GS. He's said multiple times he wants to stay and they've said multiple times they're willing to pay him but there's still a narrative for him to go to LA (probably being pushed by LeBum and Rich Paul).
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I feel like Butler and Cousins are gonna end up on the Lakers.

It's just a feeling, and maybe also a hope.

klay isn't eligible for supermax

I don't think it will make a difference as to if he stays or goes.

I expect Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler to stay. Kemba because (1) he seems like an ultra-loyal dude [much to his own detriment in my opinion] (2) supermax money. Jimmy Butler because (1) he likes playing with Embiid & I think he likes the potential of that Philly team (2) extra year's money locked up.

Tobias Harris to leave. Likely to the Lakers after they miss out on all the top FAs.

I expect Kyrie to stay in Boston with AD arriving in a trade.

I expect Kawhi to stay in Toronto also. Their team's success will be hard to walk away from.

I hope Durant leaves but I am not sure he does. The Clippers look the best landing spot for him. Although I am not sure Durant has the bottle to go somewhere where he doesn't have an established superstar alongside him (like he had in Westbrook and Steph).

Klay to stay of course. GSW lifer.

My hope is the Lakers strike out in free agency yet again.

If we’re able to land AD and retain Kyrie... part of me really wants KD to stay with the Warriors so we can beat them lol

Why would Klay leave? Plus i can see Knicks getting Walker if they strike out on Kyrie and KD
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I can't imagine Kemba will deny his supermax. He can later request a trade if he no longer wants to be there.

Butler said he would sign with the Lakers 'in a second' if offered a max contract. I imagine he's gone, but that Philly will hold on to Harris. Agree that Cousins ends up in LAL, too.

I think Kawhi goes to the Clippers no matter what happens in these Finals and that Irving will re-sign with the Cs; Klay stays with GSW; Middleton stays with MIL; Russell stays with BKN.

Durant to NYK and they will make a trade to bring in a B-level All-Star to join him.

Maybe Klay decides he wants a bigger more satisfying role.  I mean he will likely have 4 titles at the end of the year, but only as at best the 2nd best player for 1 and 3rd best player for 2 (and that is at best as many would put Dray ahead of him).  A guy like Klay can really establish himself all time if he goes somewhere else, takes on a bigger role, and has great success (may not even need to win, just have success).  There is something to be said about forging your own path.
