They'd get anything for AD at this point.

He is and will still be Out by July 1..nothing is gonna change that, Bridges are already burned and his rep already bad in NO.. He needs to start over.

Tatum is one of the best returns they can ever have.

If anything Tatums stock has gone up.

Tatum at best is a floor spacing sf who can go 1 on 1.

Zion is a bruiser pf in the mold of barkley or larry johnson.

Its a match made in heaven for the 2 of them to be on the same team.
I'd certainly watch a lot of them on League Pass.

As someone who doesn't follow College ball, I'm still super skeptical about Zion, though.  People talk about him like he's the best prospect since LeBron.  Really, though?

Wouldn't surprise me to see Tatum averaging 25+ for the Pelicans next season.

Pretty lofty expectations... I dread seeing his eFG and TS % if he takes any more of his patented ill-advised midrange contested long 2's.

His TS % was still pretty elite last year, even with the increase in midrange shots.

Zion's floor is Blake Griffin. Quote me on that.

I think his floor is more likely an early career knee injury followed by a series of related lower extremity injuries...

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, a lot of people inside of New Orleans’ organization wouldn’t have to reconsider anything. They were high on the Lakers’ offer from the start. Speaking on The Sedano Show, here’s what’s McMenamin had to say: I spoke to several people within the Pelicans’ organization in the past several months that have a really high opinion of Brandon Ingram, and beyond just Brandon Ingram, have a really high opinion of the trade package that was on the table that was ultimately rejected.

If this is true I find it hard to believe that Ingram's blood clot issues are not an issue for them.

Of course this would be floated as they try and squeeze Brown and Tatum and maybe Smart from the Celtics. Call that bluff....go ahead and take Ingram and his clot and best of luck facing that Lakers team many years going forward. That play was probably taken right out of Danny Ainge's trading playbook.

Well it's a really good thing for the Celtics that those people McMenamin was talking to don't make decisions. The ownership rejected the trade and are still there. He probably wasn't talking to ownership. And Griffin and Langdon weren't there the past several months, so he probably wasn't talking to them.

So if he wasn't talking to the three main decision makers, this report means exactly nothing.

i'm 100% sure NO is interested in Tatum. His rookie season wasn't a fluke. He can work off the ball as well as catch and shoot. He tried showing off his iso repertoire this year to uninspiring results, but i can't see why his trajectory isn't still going up. JT has a real shot to be special. He just needs room to grow and NO (with Zion) would be a great place to do that.

The original rumored offer was that the Lakers would send Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac and a first-round draft pick to the Pelicans.

If that is still the offer and Ingram is ok, as the Lakers are reporting,  then the Pelicans would be foolish not to take that deal....especially since the Lakers pick is #4.

Except, Ingram would need to be medically cleared by NO, which is no guarantee. Zubac is now a Clipper. Ball and his dad are, well, Ball and his dad and would be disgruntled in NO and already said they want Phoenix.. with an implied "or else". Ball is also coming off a major injury and has yet to prove he can remain healthy enough to play even 53 games in an 82 game season. And the #4 pick is in a 2 1/2 player draft. That #4 pick is only marginally better than a late lotto pick in this draft.

The offer now might be worse than it was in February.

That's not necessarily true. This year's draft is considered weak, they Memphis pick may be more interesting to them if they like next year's draft better. It also depends on how they value Tatum and Ingram. If they like Ingram better, then the LA package is strong, but if they like Tatum better it is not.

The quote attributable to Griffin was given on NBA TV months before Ingram was diagnosed with blood clot.

Yep. While there is a significant collective quantity of talent in that package (albeit with significant question marks - Ingram’s and Ball’s health - and burdens - the Ball family), the quality is subpar, and there is no likely blue chip prospect like Tatum in that package, which is ultimately the most important component of any trade for a star.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
