Does NO want Tatum now?

Not certain I’ve seen this asked. With Zion in hand does NO want another small forward?

I understand Tatum May have more upside than Brown but JB May now be a better fit there.

I assume Zion plays 3 or 4. Tatums best position defensively is 3 I think. Zion has the mass to play 4 but not certain that’s ideal position for him.

I guess my main thought is Tatum is generally being mentioned as the best asset any team is offering but has he lost his value otherwise with Zion there? Does thiis allow a team like the Knicks to offer a package NO. might prefer

I can't see a realistic timeline for Zion where he doesn't become a full time four because of spacing issues. So no, I don't think it affects Tatum's stock.

You better believe they want Tatum. He's likely their #1 target with an AD trade, and all else is window dressing.

I don't think Zion will play as SF in the NBA. He will be used as a PF, with Tatum there or not.

If anything Tatums stock has gone up.

Tatum at best is a floor spacing sf who can go 1 on 1.

Zion is a bruiser pf in the mold of barkley or larry johnson.

Its a match made in heaven for the 2 of them to be on the same team.

Whatever Zion lacks in height/length for a PF, he more than makes up for it in athleticism.

Barkley and even Ben Wallace are good examples of excellent athleticism making up for being undersized bigs.

He will be fine at PF. And Tatum will be better at SF.

I agree they will play different positions but also you don't worry about fit at the beginning of a rebuild, you just gather as much talent as you can and worry about fit down the road. Tatum is a tremendous asset.

My impression is that Tatum would have a more varied offensive diet if he felt that he could be assured of having a high number of touches in any given game.

I think the pull-up midrange shot will always be a feature of his game but I don't think he's the type of player who will fall in love with that to the exclusion of all else.  But if he feels he needs to take his shots when he gets them because he doesn't know when he may get the ball again, he'll take the first shot the opponent gives him.

I think a Tatum/Zion SF/PF pairing would get pushed around.  I just can't see zion guarding AH or AD on the blocks.  I think he is the classic tweener in the barkley role, in a league where one of the few successful tweeners is Dramond Green.  This league is certainly becoming a league of 6'-4"+ PG's, 6'-6" shooting guards, 6'-8"+ SF, 6'-9"+ PF, and 6'-10"+ Centers, all who can switch onto at least 3 positions and shoot the three...Zion will have to play SF I think.  Heck, even durant and Giannis play the 2 alot.
