What am I missing with Capela? Hyper athletic center with a high motor but not much basketball skills? Imo playing beside James Harden (and CP3) made his career. Like how playing beside Lebron made Tristan thompson’s Career.

I guess CC would be fine though as maybe the 5th best player on your team. 4th at most. Any higher and your team’s probably not a contender.
Thompson has been better without James.  I think Capela could be better without Harden for much of the same reasons that Thompson is better with James.  The floor opens up, there is more room to work, there are more opportunities, etc.

I haven’t checked the stats but I’d assume once you lose a high usage player, the usage has to go somewhere. And that’s why stats would go up.

I don’t think it’s necessarily in any team’s best interest to just let Clint Capela or TT go to work as one of their top offensive options. If that is though, that team isn’t reaching the playoffs.
who is suggesting that Capela would be a top offensive option?

You did. You said that Thompson has been a better player without James, where in fact he's less efficient than he was in previous years, just more productive due to more opportunities.

better player doesn't mean top offensive option.

Boston out
Hayward, Williams, Yabusele, 2019 first
In
Capela, Olynyk

Why? If davis deal falls through Boston bolsters front court with a couple players locked up. Capela allows Hayward to slide to the PF spot and Olynyk becomes the 3rd big able to play either front court position. If Irving is resigned then he starts, if not Smart starts at PG

Irving - Smart
Brown
Tatum
Horford - Olynyk
Capela

Miami gets:
Paul, Boston 2020 Second rounder, Boston 2019 second rounder, Houston 2021 first
out:
Olynyk, Whiteside, McGruder

Miami moves a malcontent in their system and a big salary(Whiteside) for another big salary but a necessary piece in Paul. Olynyk sheds more salary for them again. Moves saves them 7 mill in payroll.

Paul
Richardson
Winslow
Johnson
Bam

Houston gets
Whiteside, Hayward, McGruder, Williams, Yabusele
Out:
Capela, Paul, 2021 first

Houston restructures and adds alot of depth

Harden
Gordon
Hayward
Tucker/Faried
Whiteside

Or Pipedream is after this deal....
Olynyk, Tatum, LAC Pick, Boston Pick, Memphis Pick traded to Pelicans for Davis and Moore...lol

Chris Paul will be very hard for them to move unless it was to the Lakers after they fail to lure anyone in free agency. But what would they want back? Kuzma?

If we go for anyone it would only be Capela in a scenario where we aren't competing. Give Al a nice shot on a contending team and bring Capela to Boston. Think that s scenario P, Q, or R though. Lots would have to have happened before we go that route

I don't think anyone is taking on CP3's contract to get Cappella.
