Thomas may get a Ring .....thank you Lebron ......but he isn't getting a brinks truck .. 60 million hurts ...he may have to settle for a fraction with some team.......and he knows it ......and this is what he is in a big stink over .  He expected Celtics to hand him a max contract just based on his one year of fantastic play and just forget about the bad hip.   Was never going down that way ......he played his cards wrong. Should have had serious looks at his hipmearly on and then had surgery.

Well....he may get a ring and he should feel lucky and thankful for that chance.

Not disparaging anything IT did last season... He produced some majorly entertaining basketball no doubt.

But it is completely reciprocal, we made him the primary offensive option and he got his career season. It's not just that he gave it all to the Celts, but we also gave him the opportunity to maximize his potential. For that he should be grateful. Only point being, it goes both ways.

Even if he doesn't get his max contract he'll always have his 29ppg season.

Regardless he's set for life. You can just tell he desperately wanted that max contract status symbol. The brinks truck rhetoric didn't help him any either.

In the end Ainge made a deal that he had to make. It's tough to burn a personal relationship like that but he's the GM and it's up to him to make tough decisions to better the franchise. It's not like he tossed him out for nothing, he made moves to set us up for years.

That said I'll always appreciate the entertaining basketball IT produced last season.

Today Danny said on the radio that he did get a second opinion and implied it was all on IT if he wanted to play or not.

Remember the presser with Danny and Rondo where Rondo was asked if he thought he was a max player and said yes?  Danny just smiled. And traded him.

And Danny was proven correct, and will be again. Sorry IT.

I really don't understand IT's objection b/c how did playing really hurt his financial situation?  Had he sat out the playoffs with the injury it would have indicated to teams (including the Celtics) that he wasn't worth the max contract, and he would have gotten less visibility than playing in the playoffs.

I understand he re-aggravated the injury during the playoffs, but had he sat out he would have been equally as doomed (financially).

Take out the hip injury and IT (and rondo) are not max players
