X-ray indicated no broken bones.  Don't know what the MRI said.  But I'm feeling upbeat.  Hopefully Tatum will heal fully after a week or two of rest.  Definitely do NOT want to rush him back into action.

I guess Ojeyle and Yabu need to step up a bit in Tatum's absence.  Also we got Morris back so this might not be too much of a setback.  Still feel like we can keep winning.  Maybe not 10/10 games like currently but if we go 5-2 or 6-1 until Tatum gets back, that's still a great pace.
If Tatum is listed as questionable for tomorrow's game, I highly doubt the C's are going to hold him out for over 2 weeks.

Per Celtics, Al Horford (concussion) out for @hornets game. Jayson Tatum (ankle) questionable.

Can't imagine that Tatum actually plays tomorrow, but that's seemingly a good sign that he's ruled as questionable.

I did think Al would be back tomorrow, though, but hopefully both of them will be back for Toronto's game on Sunday. It's going to be a tough game without both of them. Will need Kyrie, Brown, and Morris to have good scoring games to pull out our 11th straight win against Charlotte.

Maybe we should sit Irving as well, since he has some problems (with his ankle?). Take a gamble against Charlotte (starters: Rozier, Smart, Brown, Morris, Baynes; bench: Larkin, Bird, Ojeleye, Yabusele, Theis), maybe you win with the help of the home crowd. And otherwise, the streak has to end somewhere and getting/staying healthy is most important.

Awesome news! I would be cautious and hold him out 1-2 games, maybe even more.

Good deal. Seems like they were just being very cautious with him. Hopefully he's good to go tomorrow night. We'll need his scoring and shooting with Al out again.

If it's not serious...spit on it, tape it up and let him go...he's 19. He can run all day and night.

If this were the 80s Celtics they'd laugh at a sore ankle. LOL

All jokes but I think the guy could use a 2 game rest.

Phew. I feel like we dodged a bullet.

I'm feeling confident about our new training staff. Moreso than the old ones.

When the medical staff clears him, you play him. You just don't indesciminently decide to rest him. If the medical staff says he is fine to go tomorrow, you play him.

Yup, if you don't trust your medical staff fire them immediately and hire new people.

So make him play through muscle pain because there's no structural damage? That's a bit absurd.

All signs point to a game off against Charlotte.

I didn’t see that suggested by anyone.  The medical staff didn’t clear him for tomorrow.  He’s listed as questionable, presumably because the imaging came back clean, but he had pain symptoms.  If he’s still feeling pain pre-game, I’d be highly surprised if he were cleared to play.  If he’s asymptomatic, then he will.

I have a feeling he just isnt used to the NBA grind yet. Probably ankle got sore from being thrust into a starting role playing major minutes right away.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Play him less with Morris back. 25 I think is good. Develop Semi some.
