slightly up and here are my reasons

-posting a bit more on much smaller guards
-better offensive pace as a pg
-pick and roll is better and showing a better mid range game
-driving a bit more
-elite defense

here is the reason why in my opinion his stock is not skyrocketing
-still terrible 3 point shooting
-injury woes

If you are just focusing on three of course you won't feel great.  On the other side, he is doing seriously every other thing better.  He looks great.  He is going to be a star.

He can be a good two-way player, star is a bit of a stretch.

I've had a lot of confidence in smart since we drafted him. I think he can be an allstar player.  Whether he becomes that and here is up to him and the celtics.

He's not a lock like Jaylen is. It depends on his mindset and how much he works at it. Jaylen too obviously but I think Jaylen is more a natural lock to be that someday barring injury.

Smart in ways it depends on what kind of leader he wants to be.  He's a leader but can be a great one or just another guy who is heralded as that but doesnt really fulfill his potential.

He'll never be as good as Tony Allen, or Evan Turner in my opinion. Very average injury prone player!!

The injuries concern me a lot, too.

This newest ankle injury hopefully isn't as severe as the one he suffered his rookie year that hobbled him for basically the whole season.

The guy is a warrior, but it's perhaps this quality. which is his greatest strength, that could also be his greatest weakness, making him far more susceptible to injury.

I like the guy a lot, but I'd trade him for Okafor in a heartbeat.

I must be the biggest homer Smart fan in the entire world.  I have endless confidence in him.  I think he's one of the most valuable players on the roster and by far the most fun to watch.  I think he can be an all-star caliber player with just minor improvements.

He's already a better player than Tony Allen was at his age.

I have been critical of Smart and doubt he can turn into a decent offensive threat...he wasn't a great offensive player in college and his troubles continued in the NBA.   See my post about predicting Smarts FG and 3 pt % this year.

He already is as good as both.

Tony Allen has become so overrated by this board since he left.

You are not alone.  A lot of fans on here say they love defense but they don't value the best defensive player on the team or see the obvious improvement in his game, just because the 3 pt shooting is not there.  You have to be blind to not see how he has obviously gotten better at literally everything else in the preseason.
