I don't know he might of bulked up, I haven't seen under his shirt so no love handles confirmed. But who cares, until he's out there getting winded I'm not looking to closely at his body type but more so his game, which by the way he had a good run at PG for 24 mins... 5 assists, 3 turnovers tho, shot-selection seems more improved as he wasn't playing offball(where he sucks imo) and he  seems to be more of a playmaker than Rozier, although not as good a Scorer. He also finally hit a dang three, I don't know if he's for real this year... I'm honestly giving him this last year to prove himself on that end before I write to Danny and very formally request that he plays him only 7 mins a game for key defensive stops

He's got that Baron Davis / Ray Felton / Eric Gordon build.

It's fine.
Yeah, he reminds me more of Ron Artest though.  Those guys were pretty explosive.

Certainly he hasn't shown the handle or scoring ability of those guys.

I agree that Smart looks more like a combo guard version of an Artest type player.

He looks big enough to still take Brown off the dribble here... non issue.   Noted

I agree with the sentiment he could shed a few pounds, but I don't think those few extra pounds are causing him to miss outside shots. He seems improved from what we've seen in the preseason. If he plays at this level, you could see a big bump in his fg%. Pretty hard to complain.

Is this really a thing some people are worrying about? I missed this past game, but I saw the first two preseason games. I honestly have not noticed any significant difference in his size/weight this preseason.

Let's not forget that at age 21/22 is when most young men fill out their frame and gain mass. From age 19-21 I fought mma in the 170 lb. class, but right around the age of 21 I started filling out, especially in the upperback/chest/shoulder areas, and had to move up to the 185 class. I would imagine if anything he just naturally filled out with age. If his weight was a concern of the team, I'm fairly certain we'd know about it.

What's your body % out of curiosity?

Haha right now that's a bold question to ask me!  :P

When I was younger and fought at 170, I would be right at 6-7% body fat for the fight, but I was a thicker/more muscular welterweight who generally walked around at about 11% body fat regularly outside of fight camp. When I started filling out at that time and had to move up a weight class, the highest I jumped to was about 12.5% body fat, but my bmi and lean mass went considerably up. With my height to mass ratio, even when I was leaner around 8% body fat I was still borderline "obese" by bmi standards of hitting right around 29.5 bmi.

That's actually one of the better comps for Smart I have seen.
