That #7 jersey just makes me think of Dee Brown had he been blessed with a 6'7 body.

The kid looked very promising and I hope he keeps it up. I fully expect him to have stretches where he looks very good this season and I expect stretches where he'll look really bad too. I fully expect the haters to come out then. They'd rather have their pride then admit they were wrong. Inconsistency is generally the case with rookies and even 2nd-year players *ahem Marcus Smart* unless they are expected to be an instantaneous future superstar, which Jaylen isn't.

The real question could be whether or not he's the future of the Celtics or he's the centerpiece to the next superstar coming here.

I loved this kid in all my pre-draft posts, and still do.

But, let's not get too up after a very small sample size.  There are going to be some struggles, a lot of struggles, actually, and that will be the real test. To see if he is mentally tough, and super competitive. The great players, like MJ, Bird, Kobe, all have the super competitive streak, just hate losing.

That is the real test. I really really hope he has that quality.

All those guys were forced to be leaders pretty early on. To me, Jaylen has more of a Reggie Lewis quality and way about him. If he puts in that same effort I'll be gushing for the next decade.
