I'm not a big fan of Okafor, or his game for this day in age. That said, he could almost serve as our Al Jefferson, in the sense that we could develop his great talent and skills further for our use, or simply flip him in a package with picks for a legit star in the near future (when the opportunity is there). The kid is 20 years old and has an advanced post game and a lot of talent.
Big men who have skills will always be in demand, even if the game is changing. If we aren't confident that Dunn, Hield, Bender or whoever will realistically be a legit difference maker for us, I'd look to flip for Okafor. Philly seems open to trading him, with their big man depth, so it could honestly make a lot of sense for both teams.
Ultimately, I don't think he's a long term fit here, but he would absolutely have good value to a lot of teams, and could be combined with future Nets picks to help net us a real star...
