Can anyone explain why KO is worth keeping? He seems rather weak to me

~40% three point shooting, improving defence, workable dribble drive game. He  fills needs

He will never be a starter in a contender, but he is a role player with very unique skills. If he improves his D, then watch out.

Depends on what happens with trades, I don't think anyone is completely safe.

IT, Bradley and Crowder are the safest. Smart next. I see us re-signing ET and Sully and conserving our cap space for next season so I think they'll be safe.

Honestly I see KO as someone that can be filler in a trade for a star. Say a Cousins trade happens, I think KO goes the other way. He's special but just isn't consistent enough to be a reliable role player and not good enough to be a key starter. Zeller depends on the roster make up, I think he'll be decided on late in the summer.

Amir + JJ will be back unless they are used in a trade on draft night. That is the night they are most valuable to DA.

As much as I like the rookies and Young ultimately DA wouldn't hesitate to add them to a deal if it meant bringing back a legit star.

Very good post.  My sentiments exactly.

I really want Amir back.  The guy does the dirty work and has been extremely impressive the last couple of months.

I think that next year Zeller and Turner will be named Mickey and Rozier. I also think they'll keep Jerebko for depth since he's on that nice cheap team option, but he'll see less minutes next season in favor of the pick#3 rookie. Otherwise it's the same team.

James Young will probably be traded for a 2nd rounder. Hunter will be on the fringe fighting for a look. A new batch of mid-tier rookies will pile up stats in Maine.

I think the main issue currently is the team has 15 guys who are 4th - 8th players.  Yes IT is a star, but to me as a 6th man on a contender.  Crowder could be a 4th option Barnes role on a contender (yes very different player).

I would keep Crowder and Smart.  Everyone else is expendable.  Amir and Jerebko would be good backups and IT can move towards 6th man or be moved in a trade package for a 1 or 2 wing option.  KO is also a good role player or can be moved for a 1-3 option along with other assets.  He has played atrociously since coming back and has been taking way too many BAD shots.

The team desperately needs two bigs who can board and score inside.  Right now they only have backups.  IE - none of the bigs is close to as good as Bogut overall who is the 6th or 7th best player on the best contender.

I think the plan is to get a 1 or 2 option via FA or trade along with a big and then draft another big (possibly 2-3 of them with at least one draft and stash) plus go for a 1-3 option with the BK pick.  Then rinse and repeat next draft.

This roster will likely look VERY different in two years though this season has been an enjoyable ride.

I think the team needs to trade Isaiah this summer or sometime during the season.

His trade value will be as high as it is going to be. He has only 2 years left on his contract. With his gaudy scoring numbers, he'll probably be looking at a max contract. I don't think Isaiah is worth that and I do not want the team to pay him that. Isaiah's trade value will drop significantly once he gets into his final year especially given he is both an unrestricted free agent and also due a massive pay increase. So the best time to get good value for him is in the next 10 months.

So with that in mind, I do not think Isaiah is a keeper. I think he should be trade bait.

I 100% agree, I don't think it's possible to have a championship team with someone of I.T's size starting games, I think he could be the best 6th man in the league but like you said, if he's going to be a 6th man he can't be getting a max.

The question is who will trade us their star player and want I.T in return, the only team that comes to mind is Kings and there might be too much bad blood to make that happen.
Thomas would be a good fit in Philly.  Thomas and 16 for Okafor.

As for the question, no one is a keeper.  I'd be willing to move every single player/asset if I thought it would improve the team and there are a lot of potential trades out there that would improve the team (or at least improve the championship chances i.e. going younger but with more upside).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
