Blatt is Head Coach of the Eastern Conference Champions who from most so called experts are projected to be even greater next season with the Return of Kyrie and Love? .
Blatt's chances of being in a better situation than this for the remainder of his coaching career in the NBA would appear to be at very very long odds.
So he bends over and takes Big Bad Lebron and asks for more for the duration of his contract or when he is fired.
Maybe in his private reflective time looking in the mirror he scolds himself with comments like 'I am nothing but Lebron's ****'.
Then he pulls it all together and puckers up again.
Something's you just gotta do to get ahead in this world.

Maybe Lebron is holding his family hostage though and forcing him to stay at the Cavs as his battering ram ::) ::)

Way to not over exaggerate, when making a point about people over exaggerating too much.

I'm gonna go ahead and throw out a lets agree to disagree since this seems to be going in a real rational direction

Its clear as day dude. Blatt just had a press conference where he talked about how great it was coaching Lebron and how he is going nowhere. HE is choosing to continue to be kicked around, bullied and humiliated by big bad Lebron. Totally makes sense dont you think?

actually yes it does.  I watched Jim Zorn do it for two years as a rookie head coach with the redskins.  the front office completely neutered him and brought in a guy to call the plays for the offense (Sherm Lewis), that was literally calling bingo games in a church the week before.  The media for weeks was showing up to redskins park every single day waiting for Jim Zorn to either be fired or quit.  They were even bringing in replacements to interview for his job before they even fired him!  And Jim Zorn put up with all of it and never missed a beat in front of the media saying how everything is just Peachy!  Some people will say all the right things to keep their job, if they know losing it, is the alternative for standing up for yourself.

Regardless of what you think, what David Blatt says to media means SQUAT about what his actual frame of mind is.  So you can wave that flag all day if you want.

Wow ok so if am understanding all the logic,

When Loves says he wants to stay with the Cavs, he actually means he cant wait to leave

When DG says he wants Love back, it actually means he cant stand Love and wants to get rid of him

When Blatt says he enjoyed coaching Lebron and is going nowhere, He actually means he despises Lebron but wants to keep getting apparently bullied and humiliated by him.

This is the same Blatt that is a coaching Legend in Europe having won many titles there and needs ZERO validation from the NBA.

The same Blatt that will never get credit even if he wins (clearly shown this season). All his mistakes are headline news while his success is pushed to the side despite being a rookie coach. And add to the fact he is constant being humuliated by Lebron yet he is willfully choosing to stay. OK then

Can you really not see the difference in circumstance where someone would state their real feelings with the media and in another situation would not??  Ever heard of the phrase 'You pick your battles"  Blatts could be 100% truthful with these statements he put out there, you could be right.  But to completely dismiss the fact that he could just be saying these things to smooth everything over is ignorant.

You have your opinion and I have mine, and thats the end of it.

I personally wouldn't engage with this guy and just hope he gets away. He has been around a few months and adds nothing to the conversation besides cavs cheerleading and insulting of other posters. TP for what you put up with so far.

...

He is already a coaching Legend in Europe, if he left the Cavs job, he would get a job the next day.
...

Not making $20 million in 4 years.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Lebron runs the league at the moment.  For the city of Cleveland I hope he wins one. But In my heart I hope he never wins another. His Ego is bigger than Tiger Woods and MJ combined.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

oddly enough ESPN followed up with a front page story today about how common it is for stars to feud with coaches.

Phone call probably went something like this....

Lebron's PR people: "So, do you want anymore exclusives with Lebron?"

ESPN:  "Oh boy.... We'll get right on this and make it right"

The good old Larry Brown Allen Iverson relationship, the go to move for player coach relationships.
Got to treat these kids differently now days, their feelings are too precious  ::)
Maybe Stein needs to take a leave of absence to figure out if he is onboard the Lebron express or explore other options.

To be fair, I think Larry Brown and AI got along fairly well for the most part. A lot of that stuff got blown out of proportion because a lot of the philly beat writers didn't like Iverson.

I imagine this is something similar.

“I think it’s very clear, the way LeBron and some other players don’t respect him,”
“I’ve never seen a situation like this with a star player and coach, certainly not one that lasts. I think it’s unpredictable, but I do think there’s something to be said for the fact that Blatt totally yields to LeBron. He takes all the stuff LeBron gives him, lets it roll off his back, doesn’t let it affect his job."
“I think, at the end of the day, LeBron likes the freedom. He likes having Blatt to kick around, something he couldn’t get away with with other coaches in the past. I think LeBron is OK with him going forward. If David Blatt is OK with taking the abuse from the star player, which he does, David Blatt will be back. I think it’ll be Blatt’s decision more than anybody else at this point.”
-Brian Windhorst

LOL this is hilarious!

"All the negativity that’s on Celticsblog sucks. I’ve been around when Kyrie Irving was criticized. I’ve been around when Al Horford was insulted. And it stinks. It makes the greatest team, greatest fans in the world, lousy."

Imagine if Bron went to a family birthday party on a day he wasn't scheduled to play due to injury. All heck would break loose.
