I do think there's merit to what's being said about replicable skillsets, though. Durant is one of the two or three best scorers in the league, no doubt about it, but elite scoring is more common than elite defense at the 4/5. Assuming the Brow stays healthy he could have a KG-type impact on a team's D.
And he also might have a KG type impact on the W/L record, which is too say not all that much.

I think in a couple years Davis will be the better player but Durant might still be the bigger winner. So I guess Durant but since its a pipe dream either way, I would take either one.

KG carried the Wolves all the way to the Western Conference Finals back in the day. There's only so much one man can do, as we saw with KG and are seeing with Durant and Westbrook.

I would take Davis, I really think he is KG 2.0.  Not sure if he will be the leader KG was but he is as talented as a young KG.  Not a lot of guys walking this earth can do what Davis can do...

I think if KD comes to the East he could easily lead an eastern conference team to 60 wins. I am not sure Anthony Davis could do that right now, for the next 5 years I take Durant.

Durrant.  2nd best player in the NBA now.  He will attract other star players.

KG carried the Wolves all the way to the Western Conference Finals... after his front office gave him some quality teammates. If Davis plays out his entire rookie contract without being on a winning team, I'll have questions. For now, no worries.

Davis. Great centers are tougher to find.  He's also going to get better, which is pretty scary.

The Brow or Durantula?

I'll go with the Brow. He's the kind of player that every team NEEDS

1) Davis is a two way player, while Durant plays defence with the same intensity as a snail shows when running to it's next meal

2) Durant is soft as a girl

3) Durant has just had a major injury, and suddenly is the second best player on his team

4) Davis is much younger

Yep, the answer is Anthony Davis

Let me break the trend: Durant.

Experienced, can rebound, can play D, capable of getting trip doubles, can push team deep in playoffs, he's the go-to guy, can shoot the 3 ball, clutch, and a scoring machine.

Aaaand ya can lure other players around the MVP!

AD is great and all, but I just view highly of Durant atm imo.  ;D

So you are using rebounding and defence as two of the reasons for choosing Durant over Davis?  Right....

lol

How can you even begin to say that when he isn't even the best player on his TEAM right now?

Current list of players who are playing better than Durant this season:

Lebron
Curry
Westbrook
Harden
Cousins

I would keep going but then I'd just be wasting keyboard time!

Are you kidding me?

How many years did Minnesota make the playoffs while KG was there?

How many times did they make the playoffs before KG came along?

Also, didn't the Wolves have the best record in the NBA one of those seasons (if not, it was definitely one of the best).

Davis.

KD is a better scorer, but Davis does pretty much everything else better. Shooters in the NBA are easy to come by, (not saying that's all Durant does) but centers at his level and especially at his age are rare and if I had the choice to start a team I'll go with Davis.
