These two guys from Detroit can fill that hopeful upside void left by Dwight Powell . . .

Actually, both guys appear to have some potential. Worth a shot! I like it. Need more shooting.

I rather have Dwight Powell

Danny disagrees.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I look forward to seeing Jerebko in Green, I think his ability to run and athletic ability will surprise some.

-Datome is expected to be bought out, according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

I may be wrong but I thought people loved him and hoped we picked him last season? I don't remember how it went down exactly but I remember some people being high on him. Now that we have him... *crickets*

If this is true, we wont have him for long but I just want a little help remembering the buzz for him a season ago.

Some people liked Darko here too, never meant he was that good.  Time will tell only DA and BS knows what the plan is.

Should be noted that by using the Wright TPE for Jerebko and the Rivers TPE for Datome, we will now have a Prince-sized TPE ($7.7 mil) going forward.  Not a huge deal, but more useful on draft night than the two smaller ones.

Thanks for pointing this out. It is a pretty sweet move by DA, actually.

I think it's the underrated part of the deal.  Think of the end result of the Pierce 10.3 mil trade exemption netted us Zeller AND Thomas both under our control for a while.  We still have the Rondo 12.9 TE to play with too.

A league source told CSNNE.com that Prince may discuss a potential buyout with the Pistons before March 1 which would allow him to play for a more established, playoff-caliber team like the Los Angeles Clippers who, as reported by CSNNE.com last week, will pursue him if he were to become available following a buyout.

Why would the Pistons trade two expiring contracts for a more expensive expiring contract, just to buy him out?

Did we send something not reported? Otherwise, I don't get it either.

There are a few explanations for this story.  One is that the reporter (A. Sherrod Blakely) is an idiot.  Another is that Prince doesn't want to go back to Detroit and he's going to ask for a buyout, but they won't listen.  A third is that it depends on how Detroit does between now and March 1 and that a buyout will be an option if the Pistons fall further away from the playoffs.

I lean toward the first explanation.

Celtics are well under the lux tax now with this move.

Jerebko, 6'10 PF: 39th pick in 2009 NBA Draft

Looks like they got a 7 million dollar trade exception as well.
