We just signed Avery and just drafted Smart and Young. Why would we give up Rondo for  2gaurd?

I don't see Smart as a 2, I envision him more of a 1 where he can capitalize on his size and strength over other PG's. Playing him at the 2, and alongside Rondo, allows bigger guards to defend him. That's not playing to his strengths.

I can see Smart and Stephenson starting with Bradley backing up both. Stephenson also has the ability to play the 3. I wouldn't want him there exclusively, but he could play the position as evidenced by the way he defends James. So you can pretty much have a 5 guy rotation at the 1, 2, and 3 spots with Green, Stephenson, Smart, Bradley, and whoever wins the last spot (Young, Wallace, etc.)
I agree about Smart being a pg and not a sg. My point is that we solidified our 1 and 2, unless major shakeups, and we now need to look to the future,
