People should cut Sully slack. He has had major surgery and come back spectacularly. He is very young. Very smart. Very coach able, son of a coach. And we're picking on his weight?
Yeah, let's completely ignore an issue that can affect his the productivity of his entire career because he gives good interviews. After all, that's worked great every time in the past.

Cut him slack or not, but it's just not realistic to think the back surgery wouldn't interfere with any offseason training program last summer.
I'm not saying it's not going to interfere, I'm saying that it's not an excuse for showing up in the shape he was. Training programs do not exclusively consist of lifting weights, you know.

Considering that part of the rehab requires him to move as little as possible, it's not surprising he put on some weight. Now he has first offseason healthy, I think he'll lose weight or put on some muscle this summer.
This is how Rob Gronkowski looked when he came back last season after having a back and multiple arm surgeries over the course of a single year:

Enough with the excuses. It's time to see some results here.
do you have any before and after pix? i ask since this guy's starting point might have been different than sully's. besides, sully's build is really different as well.

but your basic point stands. sully needs to get into much better shape. i believe it took perk something like 3 years to finally because as strong as he could.

Of course they don't. Do you have any particular insight into what Sully's training program was last summer, or evidence the team was unhappy with how well he adhered to it? Because these players generally don't come up with these things on their own.

Sully can do a lot of stuff to improve his stamina and lot concerning his value as professional in the NBA

Eat healthy meals     No fast food  or excess alcohol.
Have a exercise routine developed by a trainer for his needs.
Sleep

I WISH somebody would PAY me to do the above so I could have a career in something I love.

I dont understand why so many give Sully a free pass.  He does very little to battle his weight issues.  KLove hired a personal chief after his first season and still uses the same individual to make all of his meals.  Sully should have done the same a long time ago.

How do you know Sully didn`t do that?

Were you disappointed with 13.3 ppg and 8.1 rebounds in 27.6 minutes, his first full season in the NBA?  What about those results?  You're unhappy because he didn't make it into the Sports Illustrated naked photo shoot?

We're probably all glad he didn't.

There are guys who did not get out of shape post surgery,  Gronk was probably in better shape than Perk prior.  He also probably has a nutritionist.  This is one thing I think would help Sully.   I am less concerned about his weight than bad weight.   Higher muscle and less baby fat would help his speed and lift and not hurt his strength.

Here's an insight: whatever it was, it quite evidently isn't working. As for how the Celtics brass feels about it, here's their insight from last year's training camp:
Quote
"He's been moving pretty well," said Ainge. "He's been moving better than I saw him last summer. I think he needs to get in better shape. I talked to him about it, he needs better conditioning. I thought last year, he needed to be in better shape too. So that's something Jared will have to work really hard at."

As for Gronk pictures before and after, here's Gronk in the SuperBowl:
