I don't mind getting love at all and honestly I swear like 2 yrs. ago if you asked C's fans if they would want Love they would have answered with an emphatic "yes!!!!" not quite sure what happened here. i'm not making excuses for the guy but is it possible that the rest of the team just sucks around him? is it possible that the western conference is just that deep and that's why this guy hasn't lead his team to the playoffs?

if I were to be hesitant about trading for love it would be like others have said because he won't sign. in fact I want him signed as soon as he gets here. if that can't be done then i'm not interested in getting 1yr. out of him.

if I were to be hesitant about trading for love it would be because I don't want just Love. my ideal situation is to somehow, someway get exum and love and another big name in FA or trade. I realize that is a dream scenario but I want something along the lines of that.

but no if we have a chance to get Love over waiting to see what we have in a draft pick in 5 yrs. you absolutely do this. this is a no brainer, there are no guarantees. danny ainge is doing a masterful job. now we just have to hope for the ping pong balls....again..... :-\

Love has put up numbers that make him a top 10/15 player in the league, no matter how much he sucks on defense.  Despite that, he's failed to drag his team into even the 8th playoff spot out West.  On the other hand, he'll just turn 26 this fall, the West has been CRAZY tough for pretty much all Love's career and his best teammate has been Ricky "El Busto" Rubio.

Love could become an MVP or might be just another David Lee.

The whole "can't lead a team to the playoffs" thing doesn't bother me much.

1. The team this year had the profile of a playoff team but lost a ton of close games which is often an indicator of bad "luck". Though in this case I think Rubio's limitations and overplaying JJ Barea killed the Wolves in crunch time. I don't think it was a Love issue.

2. KG at the PEAK of his powers as a basketball player (MVP the prior year) missed the playoffs two years in a row in Minnesota. West was stacked then and is stacked now this stuff happens.

Now Love isn't the same caliber of player as KG was, but he's still very very good. You can't say very very good players aren't good enough I only want a LeBron/Kg/Duncan/Durant/Davis talent, there aren't enough of those to go around.

I don't think he's a David Lee or a Troy Murphy. Both of them had the nasty hidden fact that their teams rebounded worse when they were on the court consistently. Love when he's on the court usually means his team is winning the rebound battle by 3 or 4.

Well we got the #6 pick.  So would you rather have a 19 year old Noah Vonleh, a 19 year old Aaron Gordon or a 25 year old Kevin love in his prime?  It's a no-brainer to me.  Love gets us competitive a lot faster.  The only question is what other assets we need to give up with pick #6 to make this happen.  We also need to shed salary to match and get Love under our cap.
