Well, I think the beauty of this year (if there is any beauty at all) is that we don't need to do anything.

For the past few years, there's always been pressure to upgrade because we had to maximize the potential of the team in a very narrow (and rapidly closing) window of contention.

This year, there are no expectations.  If the team clicks and exceeds expectations, great.  If not, they get a shot at several great players in a loaded draft.

So Danny should just ride things out.  If someone offers him something worthwhile for one of the vets, he should do it.  But there should be no rush to trade anyone unless a valuable building block is offered in return.

I think the group that the C's are trying to move is Humphries, Wallace, Bass and Lee. I'm on the fence about Green and am curious how he will do once Rondo is consistently setting him up with good shots to keep him aggressive.

I would be shocked if at least one of that group isn't traded on December 15th when players who signed contracts this year can be dealt.

Agreed. Those guys for sure.

As for Green , i don't think he works well with Rondo. He hasn't in the past

We really haven't seen enough of Green and Rondo together to know that. A lot of people here were claiming that last year was a sign that Green and Rondo don't work well together, mainly because they couldn't distinguish between "Rondo hampers Green's game" and "Green started slowly last season (after a year off) when he was recovering from open heart surgery". Some people explained that the problem was Green needing the ball in his hands to be effective, I think that theory's been laid to rest.

How has it been laid to rest? That he's just not that effective with and just not that effective without the ball in his hand?

If you're of the opinion that Green needs the ball in his hands to create his own offense in order to be effective then more power to you. I don't think too many people are holding on to that notion.
Agreed
The numbers so far make you think that Rondo will help him  greatly.
Green is least efficient on offense so far as a roller in the pick and roll (0 points per possession on only two possessions though), and in isolation (.62 PPP on 21 attempts).
He is most efficient as a cutter (1.67 ppp), in transition (1.36 pps 8th in the NBA), he also has scored 1 Point Per Possession on post ups, spot ups and offensive rebounds. Most of these efficient scoring manners will only increase in quality and quantity with Rondo back
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

we need to trade Bass, Lee, Green, AB, Jcraw, Humphries , Wallace for the best return as soon as possible. If we are going to lose or tank, i rather do it with a team full of promising young players.

Bring up Osby and let Pressey, KO, Sullinger and Faverani play extended minutes.

You do know that Bradley just turned 22 a couple of days ago, right?

Who's "Osby"?

Was about to say same thing about AB
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

He is starting to play like a Jackazz is all i got to say. Launching low percentage 2's with 18 seconds left in the timeclock makes Jcraw look unselfish.

But he's shooting them well.

Also, I'm not sure that I'd agree that the players that're being kept in the original post are "promising young players." Only one of them would be a starter on the 11-12 Bobcats.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

The Celtics really only have two "promising young players" in my opinion, which are Sullinger and Olynyk. Most sports fans overrate their teams players. I think AB, Green and Faverani are all about as good as they ever will be.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

I don't want Green or Crawford traded. Both guys can get buckets and are fun to watch. Just having young guys who play hard isn't enough. I enjoy basketball at the highest level, and i love it when guys are able to put the ball in the hoop in an exciting way like Crawford and Green can.
