What a comedy. What a farce. I didn't believe it was possible, but Dwight outEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.d Lebron. Now THAT is an amazing feat.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Howard handled this situation a lot better than he did his last year in Orlando.  I don't see it as that much of a circus this time.  he had a group of teams with interest, interviewed with them, took a few days to decide, and chose the Rockets, eschewing $30 million to stay with the Lakers.

I give him credit for handling a difficult situation well, and also for screwing over the Lakers.

Yeah, I actually thought Dwight handled this fairly well. He is not responsible for all of our speculation and conclusion-jumping.

Here's what I saw he did:

-Gave early and clear "No's" to teams with no chance (like the Celtics. They called, he said "no", they moved on).

-Did an in person interview with teams with a shot, letting them know they had a shot (GS, LAL, ATL, DAL, HOU).

-Told all teams that he would decide, on his own in colorado, on Friday. This enabled teams to plan.

-Followed through, made his decision when he said he would, and in person told his former team he'd be leaving.

Again, he's not the most mature guy, and I'm no great defender, but what's the better way for the clear #1 FA available to handle multiple suitors in the era of Twitter and instant/constant speculation?

Agreed, these players get blamed for the constant coverage that takes place today. Howard met with several teams (which is certainly his right) and then quickly made a decision. Kobe took his time when he was a free agent but you didn't have all the social media and constant speculation that you have today.

I agree, I thought Howard this time around handled things fairly well, the media and sources leaking info they shouldn't have been leaking in the first place ruined the process.

That said, this "50/50" stuff as he was going to LA was a really bad move from whomever came up with it. There was no need for that misleading information to have seen the light of day.
