Yeah, I actually thought Dwight handled this fairly well. He is not responsible for all of our speculation and conclusion-jumping.
Here's what I saw he did:
-Gave early and clear "No's" to teams with no chance (like the Celtics. They called, he said "no", they moved on).
-Did an in person interview with teams with a shot, letting them know they had a shot (GS, LAL, ATL, DAL, HOU).
-Told all teams that he would decide, on his own in colorado, on Friday. This enabled teams to plan.
-Followed through, made his decision when he said he would, and in person told his former team he'd be leaving.
Again, he's not the most mature guy, and I'm no great defender, but what's the better way for the clear #1 FA available to handle multiple suitors in the era of Twitter and instant/constant speculation?
