I don't care if he's unsure, as long as he plays.  LOL.
I think acquiring Josh Smith might go a long aways in helping him become 'sure'.  But that might interfere with the 'tank for Wiggins' plan.  LOL

I think Rondo is gone.

He won't have to force his way out, because Danny is intent on stripping this team down to the studs.  Well, he would be, if we had any studs...  But I digress.

Even if Rondo does have to force his way out, I don't blame him.  Danny has repeatedly tried to trade him, and now he's shown that loyalty will be rewarded by being shipped out of town for pennies on the dollar.

Pack your bags, Rajon.  This franchise has no use for guys of your caliber any longer.  Lottery balls or bust!

We should all get started on the CelticsBlog Get Well Card for BBallTim after he reads this and has a heart attack.

Haha. I'll survive if he gets traded

I'm skeptical about this story. What will you post about?

I dunno. Most of my "Rondo posts" seem to be spent refuting ridiculous claims other posters make. In a way I guess what I post about depends on people like you.

Tim loves him some Rondo, but he'll find another cause like we have all had to do over the years.

I think he may have jumped on the Jeff Green cause recently

Tim is probably the most logical poster on these boards, so whatever "cause" he jumps on probably has some worth.

 ;D

I await with baited breath my next exchange with Tim as he champions Jordan Crawford.

Which he won't, but, you know, a boy can dream.

idk, but this rebuild might take less time than 5 years+. I believe Rondo and Jeff Green are good enough reasons as to why the rebuild will be quick. Sure we might tank a season or two but I think in terms of drafting and cap flexibility might help

What is all this "stripping down to the studs" idea coming from? From the get go moving either Pierce and KG was going to be a combo, if one went the other was going too. And once they were gone, Jason Terry's value for the Celtics was completely non-existent, which really was still true had we retained him.

All Ainge did was get value for KG and moved players he currently considered dead-weight moving forward. Nothing here suggests the methodical stripping down that has been alluded to by multiple people.

Multiple people including Mark Stein's sources, apparently.

At this point all it's amounting to speculation of where Ainge wants to go with the franchise, rather than looking at the options he currently has. Speculation is that he's in tank-mode for next few seasons, and I honestly don't believe there is any truth to that, I don't believe he has any desire to bottom out in that manner.

This really is lottery balls or bust.

I'd like to trade Rondo right now for a player from one of the past two drafts with potential.  Even if we are lucky enough to land Wiggins or Parker, that doesn't ensure a title.  Look at Carmelo.  We need complementary pieces around that player.

I'd consider trading Rondo in a package that includes a draft pick coming back or going out for MKG, Oladipo, Noel, or Anthony Davis.  I think all of those players have great potential to be an top level 2nd banana.

What do you think... Rondo + 2015 Boston pick (likely lottery) for Anthony Davis?  Any chance?  Davis and Noel are a little redundant there in NOH.

Rondo for MKG + Ty Thomas + protected future first?  I may be shooting a little high here with that future first.  Allows them to free up cap space to sign FA's around Rondo pronto

Thanks for making sense.

I think it has alluded some that Wyc is a businessman and putting a franchises (he seems to genuinely love) legacy on lottery balls and where they fall is NOT option 1...option 1 is that OTHER owners are going to do that and the Celtics can be facilitators and raid them. Best way is to have these multiple picks. They could get another budding star with one or 2 years NBA experience and still get a good pick in 14 while just giving up accumulated assets.

Tanking for Wiggins? I doubt that. Trading Green is less likely than Rondo though I think both stay. Avery Bradley however...I think he won't fit in a scheme that doesn't put as much value in a full court press. I don't think the Celts expect to hold opponents to 79-88 pts for a while so A.B.'s best value is kinda lost.

Just my opinion

Doubt Rondo is going anywhere soon.  Wouldn't get value for him now, and he could easily be part of the longer-term plan....he's a valuable player with a number of very good to great years left.

Have heard it from no one but Stein and he hasn't even tweeted it out.
