Omer Asik is pretty darn good. We're talking:

Top-5 rebounder (currently 2nd overall  to Howard and 2nd per minute to Reggie Evans)
Top-10 defender (#1 overall according to Synergy and huge +/- numbers)
10th in block per minute (centers)

10 ppg on 55% shooting - yeah he's not much on the offensive end but there are certainly worse. Houston's pace is misleading, because he also only plays 30 MPG.

An elite defender and elite rebounder with good shot-blocking and passable offense, who plays center. That's significantly better than Perk in his prime and we all seemed to like him alright.
And he is only 26 years old. Not even entering his prime yet.

I'd love to have Asik.  You don't have to have an offensively talent center if said player is as gifted as Asik is on the defensive end.  There are plenty of offensively gifted PF's who would complement him well, and those types are much easier to acquire.

Sadly, there's no chance we're getting Asik.
