Like pretty much everyone else, I'm hoping KG returns—without him Boston's team D stinks, so hopefully in the next year or so the Cs can find someone to be KG's heir as defensive anchor.
Some people have floated the idea of bringing Perk back, but I'm not sure what I think of that.
Hollins can go; I love his energy, and he is a bit disruptive to the opposition, but the dude's 7 feet tall and can't rebound or block or score (other than on lobs), so he's mostly a negative.
I hope Williams gets a legit chance to prove himself. I realize he came on too late in the season to be of much use in the playoffs other than in an emergency situation, but he looked pretty good to me in the last couple games of the regular season. Seems to have great potential to be a disruptive defensive force who can also rebound and run with Rondo.
Steamah has earns his stripes, and I'm eager to see what he can do after a summer off to heal up and a full training camp (and continued tutelage from KG!).
For most of the regular season I viewed Bass as a real steal, but now I'm having doubts about bringing him back. His rebounding is average at best, and he's still blowing a lot of defensive assignments, which is a big no-no at this point in the season, and his one standout quality—the midrange J—has mostly been M.I.A. I guess I'd be fine with bringing him back as a sub.
I'd like to have Wilcox back. He seemed to be hitting his stride right as news of his heart ailment put him on the shelf. He's a better rebounder than Bass, and more athletic, and a great running companion for Rondo. A solid bench guy.
I also hope JJ gets a legit shot to prove himself, and that he can become part of the rotation.
So I guess I'd like to see Boston pick up a solid starting PF to pair with KG at C; whether they do that through the draft or free agency is moot. Boston's frontcourt needs youth, athleticism, and rebounding, so whatever fills that bill works for me.
C: KG/Steimsma/Wilcox
PF: Player X (FA or draft pick)/Wilcox/Bass/JJ
SF: Pierce/Green/Pietrus
