How is Derrick Rose still on any lists? He has a torn ACL and has been injured all season, he is not longer a top 5 PG. Heck, he cant even play a game right now and he wont be back to D-Rose ever again after that ACL injury.

Derrick Rose 23yrs old is freak of nature. He can very well comeback better than ever. Until its proven otherwise, he solidified his spot as top player in the NBA.

Right now this minute would you trade Rondo for a torn ACL Rose?

Bulls organization aren't crazy enough to trade the reigning MVP. So the question is moot.

But would you? Would you rather have a torn ACL career question mark Rose on the sideline or Rondo playing right now?

You seem to think that Rose with a torn ACL is better then Rondo.

Rose will be lucky if hes a top 10 point guard next season, it takes years to get over an ACL injury and he will be effected by it more then most.

A Knee injury isn't the end of the world. CP3 came back from a sever knee injury.

You dont get to miss half of the season and then the entire post season and be a Top 5 PG.

Rose is going to have to work his way back to Top 5 status, but right now hes lost his place.

Can he work his way back? Sure. But an ACL tear is a serious injury, he wont be himself for quite some time, and theres no guarantee he will ever be the same.

There's no guarantee he'll be the same, but there's no strong evidence he won't be, either.  For every Greg Oden, there's a Blake Griffin who seemed to lose none of his athleticism.

Chris Paul

Derrick Rose
Deron Williams
Rajon Rondo
Russell Westbrick

This is like a 2009 list. CP3 is better, but not leaps and bounds better.

Fair or unfair, Rose is longer the same player he was, until he can step back on the court and show he can still do the same things he did before his stock drops.

But that doesn't mean he can't become even better overall player in the long run , using other means ...

I expect him to make a nice recovery as he is young and return to a superstar status, but its not an easy road. .   Most guys I see loose that extra 1% edge that seperates then as the superior player the great players.  Forcing their will any time they want after ACL is tuff.  Usually other skills are developed to adjust.

Chris Paul can still dominate , but he was far more dominate as leader and team player to me than Rose before his injury.   Rose is more of a small Mello .   Using his speed and quickness to defeat all opponents and take over games. His immediate capacity to do the incredible aerobatic /gymnastic feats may be less impressive or often. Other skills will be developed. or honed.

I look for him to come back  as a top five guard, but in more  Rondo /Paul fashion or Jason Kidd.

I still say Deron Williams is the best of the bunch by a minimal margin ahead of Chris Paul.
Rose is more explosive than both, but his passing ability is inferior.
Rondo is a bit behind, not for his shooting woes, but for his tendency to choose games to dominate his opposition.
Westbrook isn't a PG.

Rose actually reminds me of a smaller Lebron. All that speed and athleticism, but not that clutch

Rose shouldn't be on that list, not just for the ACL, but for the entire year that he's had.  Nash should take his spot.  Rose will probably eventually get his spot back, but it's been a year since he was Derrick Rose, the great.

Chris Paul is good, and only shades of play make him a little better than Rajon, and that's at rare occasions.

Rose has a giant ego and would much rather score on a layup that looks super hard to accomplish, than to pass the ball. And honestly, he hasn't been much a factor this season. The Bulls are fine without him, and every time he returns from one of his injuries he shoots bricks.

Deron is good, but c'mon.. Even I could play like that on a Nets team that is pathetic as this one..

Wait, what?  I'm not the biggest supporter of Derrick Rose's game, but the 'Rose has a giant ego' thing is absolutely false.  He's probably the most humble superstar in the NBA right now.

IMO the PG rankings go: Paul, Rose, Rondo, Williams, Westbrook. If you leave out Rose because of injury and go by this season alone, I'd put Paul and Rondo at the top and Westbrook and Williams switched.

To be fair, just because you're soft spoken and reserved doesn't mean you're humble

I totally agree with the headline. There's very few guys who seem to completely control the tempo of a game and seem to always know what they're doing on the court.
