Speculation aside, I'd be shocked if the Clippers declined to match a mid-level deal (if the MLE still exists in the next CBA).

Yeah...well, I wouldn't put anything past the Clippers, but overall I agree.

On the other hand, Jordan is still a pretty big bust risk at the full MLE.  He had a nice game against the C's, but he still has a long way to go before he is even an MLE quality player.  Based on how things have gone with big men in the past, I agree that he will get that kind of money, purely on "potential", but you never know what could happen with the new CBA.

More likely though, I think there are two plausible ways the Clippers could let him go.

1. They sign/trade for a better Center (depending on the new CBA, they could have cap space this summer), such as Dwight Howard, or more likely Chandler or Nene, and let him walk.

2. They fall in love with Jeff Green, and work out a sign and trade of Jordan for Green, with the hope that they can use cap space in 2012 (or trade at the deadline) for Dwight Howard.

I can't for anything see Howard signing with the Clippers.

You don't have to see it.  The only one who does have to see it is Donald Sterling.

It's unlikely but if the Clips get healthy and Blake turns in another great season, that is a playoff team.  Don't know what the financial obligations will be in the following year for the Clips but Dwight being able to pair with Blake (still on his rookie deal) could be very enticing to Dwight.

It may be smart for the Clippers to match any offer to Jordan but...c'mon, it's the Clippers.  There's always a chance they screw something up.

You said it yourself, the league is shut down at the moment due to the CBA conflicts.

He's just visiting Boston for unrelated reasons.
I heard Lebron and D Wade just got together for drinks a few times back in the day.

Also college football has some very strict rules rarely tested.  People are all about rules these days.

It comes up a lot in opera.

Antonio is a well respected man because he plays by the rules.

Sergio is envious of Antonio's respect and plots to follow the rules even better than Antonio.

I can't see how DeAndre Jordan is a risk at the MLE. To me, even if he stopped developing he's still probably worth 7 or 8 a season.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the love affair with Deandre Jordan is.

He can't shoot.
He makes Rondo look like Larry Bird at the free throw line.
He turns the ball over at an amazing rate.
He gets lost on rotations and shows up for man defense only about half the time.

And, his rebounding rate for a center isn't even in the top 15 and it is the only thing he can do well.

If you want a guy that can dunk if he can catch it without turning the ball over and will drive you nuts when he gets fouled and has to go to the line and watches as others dunk because he missed the switch/rotation once again, he's your guy.

Otherwise, you're better off investing in Kurt Thomas or Joel Pryzbilla on the cheap for a year.

He's been doing the Seeds of Peace camp according to his twitter. He has the same agent as Scal so maybe Arn Tellem put him onto it.

Isn't "gushing with upside" sports commentator code for a pretty average player? If so I agree. Hopefully its just a vacation.

No.  It's sports commentator code for a pretty bad player who also happens to be athletic.  Athleticism = potential to a lot of people.

I can see taking him as a backup c for the right money...he has enough upside(untapped)to work with for the future. Its funny how people will make the argument for a player they really like by saying coming to Boston and being around Doc,KG,Paul,Ray,in the Celtics system will help them develop but when its someone they dislike there's no middle ground?

When/where has the Clipppers been noted for developing young  C to becoming the best player they can be?Usually they have to leave the Clipps and later you'll see the progression elsewhere.

The dreaded POTENTIAL.  You're right.  He is a below average NBA player right now.  But the appeal is that he has improved immensely over the last few years, and has all of the tools, and the attitude to be a defensive force, if he can keep developing.

I think he just reminds everyone so much of Perk.  They don't have identical skillsets, but both are similarly raw prospects who seem to enjoy playing defense, and have really grown dramatically since they entered the league.

A 7 foot athletic center is quite different. Just his ability to get up and down the floor he does creates some great looks for his team.
