Kevin Love + number 2 pick + Beasley + rights to Rubio + ... is not enough to get Gasol.

Pau Gasol is a laker, so I dislike him, but he's the most skilled big man in the league. He's the main reason (alongside Joey Crawford, of course) for the back-to-back Laker titles.

Gasol is a very skilled player, and gives the Lakers a legit post presence.  However, I think you're probably overestimating the value of a 31 year old coming off a very poor playoffs, or underestimating the value of Love + Derrick Williams (let alone Rubio and Beasley).

Before anyone takes a look at trading for Gasol, he needs to work on his perimeter defense.  It was horrible this year.  One reason why Peja and JET rained all over the Fakers.

Love IS more productive than Gasol. That's because Love doesn't play along side Kobe and Bynum every night. Love's numbers will go down if he gets traded to the lakers.

You can't teach size. Seven footers are hard to come by. The lakers gain youth...but not much more if they pull the trigger on this deal.
