Semih was home because his mother was sick, and is still injured. The fact that he _had_ to play despite all this shows how thin we are at center at this point. That's the main reason why none of our big men are going anywhere before the end of this season.

I couldn't remember if she had passed away, or was sick, but it clearly was something pretty serious.

I like Semih.  He's not going to be a star, but I don't want to see them give him away.  He's shown himself to be a rotation-caliber player despite all of the challenges he's faced so far (health, language, cultural, and simply being a rookie).  He's not immovable, but you aren't giving him away from a guy like Anthony Parker.  He's got a decent touch, he's pretty mobile for a big man, and the fact that KG seems to love him....  I mean, that's got to tell you something about his hard work and dedication.

No idea if this has been mentioned, but Amick now says nothing is happening between Boston and the Warriors:

Source says Nate Robinson will not be coming to the Warriors. Never discovered the other pieces, but that deal w/ Boston is not going down

Nate was so impressive last night that the Warriors just had to have him.

TP, thanks for the info. I thought it was something like that.

And now Perkins is out for the rest of the road trip. So if Shaq doesn't play, Semih would be our only true center playing for the rest of the road trip.

Even if it was temporary, the Celtics are better off keeping Semih just to actually have a center for a while.

Yeah, this probably eliminates any trade discussions involving Semih at this point. Should also reinvigorate thoughts of coaxing Sheed back to the fold.
